Shogun was well past his prime. He barely beat an old man Mark Coleman and TKO'd a well past his prime liddell to earn a title shot against Machida. Jones beat and finished a line of dudes who were just leaving their primes if not in their primes
His run is the most impressive to me out of any of the other fighters you listed
However I don't think it's wrong to not think jones is the goat
He might have wasted his "prime" but what he's accomplished to date is already a case to be the goat IMO
gsp mad booring tho
Shogun wasn't well past his prime IMOShogun was well past his prime. He barely beat an old man Mark Coleman and TKO'd a well past his prime liddell to earn a title shot against Machida.
Rampage- Barely got passed Keith Jardine (knockdown at end of fight won it for him). Lost to Rashad, beat lyoto but that was questionable, then fought Matt Hamil to a decision. This guy is not in his prime for sure.
Lyoto- Lost to Shogun and rampage before beating an old man Couture to earn a shot at Jones
Rashad- Ill accept that one despite how undersized he is
Those are the 205ers that built his resume.
Anderson's run isn't what y'all make it to be anyway. Best wins to me are Maia and Henderson. Maybe Franklin, aside from that I don't really care if he runs through TUF has beens.
Mighty Mouse is far more impressive than all these dudes y'all are talking about.
For sure, for the sake of debate....
Fedor, GSP, Silva
Ill give you that but do you really feel his run is the most impressive ever? I'm talking resume and not as a fighter. As a pure talented fighter absolutely Jon Jones has it all and is most likely the most talented fighter ever. I just feel that another win over DC and a fight with Rumble could get him there.
He is perceived to many to be the a talented fighter who wasted his prime.
I know my thoughts and opinions wont change yours but I'm just here for the sake of debate.
Dudes need to put some respeck on Andersons nameAll this Spider hate
I think Weidman just happened to be his kryptonite. After that his next 2 losses were questionable at best. He lost the shaky decision to Bisping and then he stepped up on 14 hours notice to face that bum DC who just laid on top of him.
I think he's owed one more high profile match before writing him and his chin off.
I personally put a lot of stock into losing. Jones never been beaten. In b4 people make more excuses for Silva.I always looked at that first part of Jones' run as him just running through the older smaller fighters on their way out, similar to how I looked at Weidman when he ran through Silva x2, Vitor, and Machida (although Machida gave him hell in that 5th round). I figured the minute Weidman fought a young guy who could match his size and skill he'd have problems, and sure enough Rockhold took him out. Difference with Jones is he actually beat Gus and Cormier so his resume is solidified.
I actually still think Rampage in his prime coulda gave Jones problems just because of his power and wrestling. Rumble could be an even worse matchup if he could somehow gets his gas tank and TDD together.
And if Aldo didn't get slept like that by Conor he'd be in the GOAT discussion too.
But for now Fedor, SIlva and GSP are solidified, and Jones is pretty much up there with them too. I'd say Fedor and Silva tied for #1 until Jones gets his **** together and gets a few more solid wins, and maybe a heavyweight fight
I love Silva. Dude is the epitome of a martial artist.Dudes need to put some respeck on Andersons name
This. ALL OF THIS.He might have wasted his "prime" but what he's accomplished to date is already a case to be the goat IMO
what happen?Cruz..
Some fine English babes behind the announce team.
One of them actually might be Dan's wife.
