Even though I still think that Jonny Bones is still the best fighter to ever compete in MMA, I think it's gotten to the point where you can poke legitimate holes in his case for GOAT status.

...so many different angles you can come at him from.

GSP, by being humble and genuine, has managed to avoid the allegations unlike John.

Did GSP lose to Johnny? Probably. Same as Jon w Reyes.

Did GSP duck the dangerous fighter a weight class above? Yes. Blah blah blah I don’t want to fight Silva. Jon did the same thing with Francis.

Did GSP sit out for three years and the selectively choose his opponent to become a double division champion? Yup. Same as Jon.

And did GSP duck the legitimate heir to the division? Yes. He got a stomach illness and avoided fighting Whitaker. Just like Jon with old Tommie Boy.

If ya be quiet, don’t commit crimes, pop for PEDs and don’t call people A holes you too can be a GOAT.

But I would be shocked if GSP was clean his entire career.

For me the biggest case against Jon being the goat is how much time he spent not fighting, for a variety of reasons.

Think of how many tough fights he missed because he was suspended or in rehab or whatever.

It’s hard to keep winning when you’re always fighting the best guys, with very few extended breaks.

No, those fights just dont make sense for them at this point in their career.....so what do they want to do....

You cant explain this dynamic to kids who just started watching UFC 5 years ago.

You talk to people who grew up watching boxing, they get it.
