The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- Cannonier, Imavov, Reyes, Rosas on NOW

I had a feeling he wasn't going to make it. Didn't want to jinx the event so I just played it by ear. Shame

Maybe he can go the Cruz route take year or two off and then try to come back

No way he could do that. Cain is 34, 36 after 2. He needs to hang it up IMO, he's basically falling apart at the seams.........mainly the seams in his back. I want the guy to fight but I think he's done for.

Man this Swanson v Choi fight tho!!!

HW's, elite HW's have proven to have fought in their late 30's to 40's

With the wear and tear Cain has been through, taking a year or two off isn't a death sentence IMO

Well that goes along with my point that he needs to take extended time off.... I'm not a doctor though, so I have no idea if time off would even help him. It certainly wouldn't hurt

Dana just ridiculous Conor asked for no media he gets cut. Yet Ronda can cry and get a pass?

Dana knows Ronda doesn't even really need (or perhaps wants) to fight anymore, had to make all the accommodations possible to get in at least one more money card

Also Ronda is a client of WME so it's kinda weird there...

Exactly those heavyweights that have proven to fight deep into their 30s have proven to be much more durable than Cain. The Mark Hunts of the heavyweight division get hurt much less with less down time. Back problems can truly be some of the hardest to come back from. I just don't believe his body can take 'The Grind' anymore.

nunes doing the legwork promoting this fight. ronda is completely focused on training and doesn't even have to deal with the media for probably the first time

His procedure could supposedly take away his pain long term so I'll wait to see what happens with that

Not ready to put the nail in his coffin yet, but it's definitely depressing times

I see why people would say he's done.. I'm gonna give it just a little more time.. he's a smaller hw and I've seen Dom come back from the dead he made me believe a lot is possible

Dog, Werdum vs Cain could have been fight of the year. Both coming off complete *** whoopings of Travis Browne :hat

You right you right

They have the first Cain vs werdum fight up for free on their YouTube page and man it was different than I remembered it

Cain was blistering werdum in the first round I don't even remember Cain doing that but werdum stayed poised and weathered the storm.. the altitude and werdums striking were too much for Cain

The rematch was going to be even better man smh

Can we take a moment to appreciate how great Werdum's striking has gotten? Watching his first Travis Browne fight COT DAMN. One of my favorite performances ever.

That's why I love watching competent heavyweight strikers (JDS, Cain, Werdum, Stipe, Reem). All technique man.

Speaking of Werdum one of my favorite moments is when he came out and jumped kicked honda's boyfriend right in his mouth :lol

Just rewatched that fight last night. My man did a standing somersault kick in the first round. Goes to show the lack of respect he has for Browne

At this point honestly wouldn't mind Dana just granting either werdum or jds an automatic shot

Jds doesn't need to fight Struve honestly and a rematch with stipe would be lit af. Barn burner for sure

The werdum rematch would also be great since werdum probably wouldn't sprint after stipe this time around

Werdum is nuts lmaoooo

Response to jds saying werdum turned a fight down

"What ‘Cigano’ said was a bit weird,” Werdum said. “‘Cigano’ has been chasing me for a long time. You usually go after the belt, not a fighter. I think that’s weird. I wasn’t offered this (fight). He’s saying I turned it down. I’d fight him just to end this story of him chasing me.”

“Some people think he’s jealous because I became champion beating his ‘dad’ Cain Velasquez, but I don’t think that’s the case,” he continued. “I think he didn’t come out of the closet yet. I don’t have anything against homosexuals, but ‘Cigano’ needs to get out of the closet. He must have something because he won’t forget me. I already told him I’m married. Nothing against gays, but everyone does their own thing.”

cody deadset on trying to knock cruz out :lol
he better not be hunting all night, or it can be a long frustrating 5 rds

hearing that ronda is in insane shape and best shape she's ever been in her career
interested if she brought top fighters into her camp. could definitely afford it like what conor does

Cody bout to be exhausted after one hitting nothing but air
Yea about how I expect it to go, he'll likely gas after headhunting and then cruz could just pepper him with one twos all fight and win the 50-45 ud.

A lot of people I know picking Cody. They're on that Conor train of thought where "all it takes is one".

Except they're forgetting Cruz is the most elusive fighter in the history of the UFC. I'm picking Cruz via TKO
