The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- Cannonier, Imavov, Reyes, Rosas on NOW

Wouldn't have been mad at either decision but honestly it wasn't a compelling match where I was begging for them to run it back

Gun to my head, eye test along with stats, I'd lean Woodley

aside from that exchange where wonderboy almost got choked out, thompson was out pointing him

I would say I'm going to rewatch but I have literally no interest in even revisiting the match

Maia deserves the shot, but since Dana probably isn't going to grant him one, hell, if Cowboy wins just give it to him

Let Wonderboy fight Maia or Larkin or something

Can't wait to see what happens with Lawler...

I don't disagree based on a drunken/:smokin eye test while watching.

But those numbers would refute that. Surprising that they favor Woodley so mach based on how I remember the fight going. Not that they are 100% accurate either.

Scoring is tough man. Sometimes I see punches that I think land but it's really the other fighter pulling away.

People see one guy moving forward and see him as "aggressor" when the other guy could be moving back/sideways to set traps.

As much as we complain about judges (and rightfully so sometimes), **** ain't easy and is really open to interpretation.

i have no problems if the fight went to woodley. i just think the fight was so close and since it was a draw, they should go at it again. that was a dominant rd for woodley, so i could see how he thought he had won, but wonderboy survived and looked like the fresher guy near the end.

Im still confused as to why people say Woodley didnt win and why its called a majority draw. if 2 judges had a draw and one had Woodley winning wouldn't that make woodley the winner?

2 v 1 opinion, the 2 maybe outweighs the 1 judge

It's hard to hate on Wonderboy, right now I'm listening to him with Ariel... Wonderboy is so damn humble. He didn't beg for the fight at all, the UFC offered him

Still don't want to see the rematch though lol, not yet

I'm 50/50 on seeing them run it back but if ever something called for an immediate rematch, to me it would be a draw in a title fight.

Gustaffson vs Bones should have been an immediate rematch

To this day I still think Gus won

I'm just getting caught  up on the UFC Unfiltered podcast so I'm mad late, but according to Dana, cyborg has been ducking fights?

He said she couldn't make 145 in 8 weeks.

Haha, well she's been "sick" from her last weight cut. So she claims she couldn't make weight unless she had 8 weeks to train. I don't know if you've heard, but Cyborg got flagged by USADA for a possible violation. She claims it was a substance that helped her body recover from the weight cut. So she may be suspended for a year or more anyway...

I have a real difficult time Cyborg is ducking fights. I mean, look at her history. What would she be scared of? Holly freakin Holm? Who initially turned down a non title fight with Cyborg at 145 lbs

Word. I've only heard the story from Dana, so I'm not sure what the truth is but he said he's given her 2 opportunities to fight at 145 and she turned down both. Made it sound like she was ducking for reasons other than the weight cut. Not fear of any of the fighters, but probably a substance violation. He also mentioned Holly turning down a fight, but he said she wanted the fight but her coaches or someone in her camp said it wouldn't be a good idea for her to fight cyborg at that time.

Highlights from Ariel's show today:

-Thug Rose wants Waterson next

-Went through issues with Pat Berry (who did not corner her for her last fight) but they're good to go now and will corner her for her next fight

-Yair Rodriguez went off LOL.. some quotes:

"I can wrestle I can strike and I don't give a F-word. I was born a fighter..."

On Izzy Martinez: "He tried to do too much, tried to be my father. I complained that he was being a little crazy.. His wrestling isn't as I thought..."

On people criticizing him for being too flashy in his last fight against Caceras: "People will criticize you if you win. People will criticize you if you lose. So F-word people. I'll do whatever the F-word I want in the cage. It's my career"

-Going into UFC 188, Yair only had $400 in his bank account

-TJ claims that Cody was the first person to reach out to Leister Bowling on how to get out to Denver

-TJ says that if he doesn't get the Cody fight, that he wants to fight once a month in all weight classes

Yeah, anything Dana says you have to take with a grain of salt. He says some true things and then mixes some crazy things in for certain reactions

He knows a lot of what he says is untrue and b.s. but he's doing it for particular reasons. After all, his job is to promote, so he has his motives

I wanna see that rematch given that it was a draw... gotta settle it before moving on

Welp now we need to hear if khabib and Ferguson are fighting each other on the same card

Maia may never get get his shot, would be a bummer
