The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- Cannonier, Imavov, Reyes, Rosas on NOW

Lowball offer. And no mention of what % of PPV buys. Expect a lowball on that too.

Floyd tried the same BS with Manny initially :{

if there's enough money to be made, the ufc and dana will allow it

dana wants his cut of the money. If it's a boxing match though I dunno how much they can strong arm a boxing promotion. They'd get a small share of the ppv profit.

If there's enough money to be made BY THE UFC, the ufc and dana will allow it.

All this talk about Conor getting 15 mil plus PPV points is worthless. The real question is, how much is the UFC getting? Then we can move onto Conor.

Ferguson lost a decision to Johnson and it was close to 5 years ago.

Ferguson broke his forearm in the 2nd round and continued throwing with that arm. Obviously Johnson contributed to the break so not taking anything away from him, but worth noting. Still fought to a close decision with the injury.

I don't follow boxing. Has canelo or ggg ever made 9 figures for a fight? I know Mexican fighters have the diehard fans who will buy up ppv's.

Hell no.

Canelo is also light years of GGG (in terms of revenue). I think Canelo made 5M for the Floyd fight.

Side note....is there a rhyme/reason to when they air UFC Tonight? It's Wed at 8pm EST when it's on but some weeks it's there and others it's not.

fergs boxing is solid...I wouldn't say say elite...he gets by, but he aint over whelming doods with the hands

His biggest strength is his creativity and ability to mix it up, it throws his opponents off and makes it hard for them to set up and go..

dood will throw 3's and 4's, fake the take down, level change with a spinning elbow then roll into a knee bar....

tony can wrestle too, I wouldn't be surprised if he tried to outwrestle khabib to prove a point.

Hes tall and long for the division, those guys can be hard to hold down sometimes and can be spider like when they grapple you

its worth noting too that Khabib has a freakishly short reach, thats why he's always lunging forward with those upper cuts and hooks

I like tony's odds in this fight, especially since its 5 rounds.

he seems to have the confidence and momentum too....could be a perfect storm like we saw with cody.

Rewatched Penn vs Hughes 1 today. Man the whole promo video before the fight had me in TEARS.

Washed or not, BJ ******* PENN returns this weekend. One of my favorite fighters ever man.

one of top 3 favorite fighters of all time. the first fighter in mma that knew how utilize the jab. although he ended up losing, he wrecked GSP's face in their first fight with a beautiful display of jab work. it was a boxing clinic. he completely changed GSP as a fighter after that fight. GSP went back to the drawing board and realized he needed to master the jab.

the most under utilized punch in MMA.

It's such a waste when fighters with long reaches don't use jabs or their length to their advantage.

Just hoping the Penn fight is entertaining, last time he looked good was first round of Nick Diaz fight.

BJ working with both Greg Jackson and Jason Pirillo

I say BJs path to victory is to get a takedown, pass his guard and submit him

If the fight were to happen.

Floyd is good at selling a fight. He will carry Connor throughout the fight keeping him in it. But ultimately Floyd is just too good and tactical and just win on all score cards.

He did this in the maidana fight so it could warrant a rematch having people buy up PPV's yet again.
