The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- Cannonier, Imavov, Reyes, Rosas on NOW

Will it be a kit exclusive deal? Will fighters be able to have their own sponsors again?

I doubt it. The main reason sponsors aren’t seen now is because ufc wanted to get money from them as well.
Fighters should be like eff that, they should be able to have their own sponsors as well. ufc constantly taking money out their pockets and they shut up and dribble.

So dumb.. I get having a main sponsor of the training/fighting kits... but they should really treat it like soccer and let the fighters get paid that way. Especially since they are so keen on low pay structures.

Imagine if the NBA, NFL, MLB, and soccer leagues told players they couldn't have shoe deals anymore. All those leagues got unions though to ensure that kinda stuff doesn't happen

Yeah but they were more talking about his use of the N word and his lethal hands.

I guess the question is what type of endorsement deals would be lucrative like that for a MMA fighter. Jon had the deal with Nike. Nothing really came from it. I guess you could use them to sell Metcons, CrossFit type shoes, gloves, workout gear.

But it’s easy for basketball players to have shoe endorsements due to the popularity of the sport of basketball officially and unofficially and then the secondary fashion market depending on the shoe.
