Francis has been on a roll ever since the odd Lewis fight, I think he's able to stop Stipe's takedowns this time and I also give him the striking advantage to pull out the UD this time through.
I saw JJ giving up the strap for some time now but doesn't mean this doesn't suck. With DC retired the division is very thin and in need of new blood. I don't mind a Jan/Reyes vacant fight, then Santos fighting winner if he gets past Glover though.

I am assuming Jones thought process is Francis potentially wins that Stipe fight followed by a massive summer fight where Jones comes back to fight for the heavyweight title against Francis and get closer to that pay day he has been wanting

Are you saying Stipe's scared of Francis or he would rather fight Bones? If the latter I just don't see JJ stepping in at HW before next year so he likely waits on the winner and then tries to make his case for a big payday.

I don't see Bones stepping in that fast either. He has way more to gain letting Stipe/Francis fight first

I don’t think Stipe is scared, I just think he’s at the twilight of his career and at this point even though Francis has rebuilt himself well, Stipe prob looks at it like been there, done that. Bones is a legitimate cash out fight.
There’s only two options for him...it’s Francis, It’s Jon...then it’s go home and be a family man.

Welp, the hypetrain derailed itself. The matchups only gonna get tougher for him now.
And good for jones. I assume he gets the title shot right away....dominant champ vacates to move up, seems about right. Unless he takes a warm up fight to acclimate....we’ll see.
Not sure where jon goes after HW title shot, don't see him sticking around defending it, maybe he drops back down to fight the winner of jan vs reyes? Retires a 2 division champ? Maybe retires after he fights stipe?

Well if Izzy knocks out Costa in impressive fashion then the Jones fight is absolutely back on the table as a possibility. It's all about who's hot as far as these "superfights" go.

I am picking Costa, but it has more to do with not buying so much into Adesanya. I think he owes a lot of his success to good matchmaking.

I think Jones has no idea what he’s getting into at heavyweight. He bout to get his *** beat.
He‘s looked lackluster for a while at LHW and hasn’t really sought to engage with strikers at that weight. A striker at HW will be something completely different and they’ll be able to bully him with physicality.
