The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- Cannonier, Imavov, Reyes, Rosas on NOW

Loved hunt vs bigfoot, never been so happy for draw. I hope the rematch is as good

Wow the UFC has been putting on some AMAZING fights lately. The sport had kind of fizzled out a little for me but Jon Jones vs Gustafsson, GSP vs Hendricks, Diego vs Gilbert and now Mark Hunt vs Big Foot have reeled me back in. Holy crap. :hat

Good gawd that was brutal.

Mark Hunt just chows down on punches against the fence just to make sure hes got an open lane for that left.

Jeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzz.

Light heavyweight division could get really mucked up if both Daniel Cormier and Gus win their next fights. Not sure who would deserve the title shot more.

Further, if rashad were to bear Cormier, he would also have an argument to be next in line although id probably go with Gus if he gets past manuwa.

Not even considering Phil Davis right now tbh. Unless Gus loses, Cormier loses, I would still let rashad get the next shot

If Cormier wins, he got next, if he loses and Gus wins. Gus got it

Davis, I dunno, you gotta feed him someone. Shogun is now an option again. But you run the risk of Shogun putting Phil to sleep.

Shogun isn't beating Mr. Wonderful in my book. Gus laid the foundation to beat Shogun, comfortably. Gus and Davis train together, are friends. You best believe strategy is traded. Shogun isn't "back" because of one victory against Te Huna. He's looked horrible prior to the KO victory.

Gus would be unlucky to defeat Manuwa then have to wait for DC (if he beats Shad) to face Bones, again.

I didn't say "Shogun is back" or Shogun will definitely beat Phil.

I said you run the risk of Shogun landing a shot that puts Phil to sleep. Which is very real risk.

And even if they did fight, Rua would only be a slight underdog. Phil hasn't set the world on fire with his performances either.

-And Shogun looked horrible in his first 2 fights in the UFC, then looked spectacular against Machida. So the theory that he is on the upswing again is not far fetched

-Anyway Shogun is probably gonna fight someone like Hendo or Lil Nog next. A marketable fight, which can serve has a co main event but doesn't impact the division. Dana's favorite

i wouldn't hate seeing Davis/Bader at this point.

Hendo/Shogun rematch would be :smokin

There virtually is no one else to match with Davis other than Bader. It seems like this fight was supposed to happen for a while now anyway.

I'm still so disappointed that condit is off the card that was going to be a hell of a scrap. It looks like they want to reschedule it, but I wouldn't be surprised if other things happen and condit gets a new opponent, perhaps for even higher stakes

Nothing to gain by fighting Hendo. He needs to knock off some of these young bucks if he's serious about making a title run.

Manuwa would have been an interesting match up. Or Bader perhaps.

Can't believe Brown got injured. Easily the fight I was most looking forward to this weekend.

Great W from Shogun. Was watching with a few fellow fight fans and we wondered if Shogun might be the most universally liked MMA fighter in recent memory.

Seems like most other fighters have people here or there who aren't fans but I can't say I've ever come across someone who doesn't like Shogun.

Rory Macdonald/Demian Maia at UFC 170
Rafael Dos Anjos/Rustam Khabilov at UFC 170
Hector Lombard/Jake Sheilds at UFC 171

Good stuff. Rory made it clear he will go back to fighting like the old Rory and I hope Lombard makes quick work of that boring *** shields

Sad to hear that he passed it looked like he was doing better. R.I.P

RIP, SDR. Only the good die young (30).

The FOX card has lot steam with Pettis and Condit off.

Team Alpha Male. War Benavidez, Mendes, Faber. Also rooting for J-Lau, McGee, Barboza, Healy, Jorgensen, Trujillo.

Castillo is the one TAM guy I can't bring myself to root for. With or without Bang's tutelage.

I hope Lombard knocks Shields' AJJ into the tenth row.

That's a terrible match-up for Rory. Maia's grappling and BJJ are going to dominate the fight, IMO.

Must be traumatizing for Ian McCall, who first responded to SDR lifeless in their residency.
