The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- Cannonier, Imavov, Reyes, Rosas on NOW

Saw giga was mad as hell at Korean Zombie for tweeting an emoji about him losing. Some fighters are so sensitive.

Hope Brandon Moreno beats the brakes off Figueroa. Dude went on a world tour after that last win, hopefully that hunger is still there

Giga did shade the TKZ. It’s one part shade, one part social media and entertaining the fans.

Won’t lie. Figgy was training with Henry. But one camp isn’t usually enough to level up. Even in Henry’s case, it took a minute for him to emulate Pitbulls stance and make the distance game his own. Bad cut? Sick? We don’t know.

But Moreno been had heart. He hung in there the first fight. We probably wouldn’t be here if Figgy didn’t commit those fouls lol.

Can’t wait for Saturday night now that it’s finally 270 week. Both title fights are great

Ariel reporting that even if Francis wins on Saturday, his management fully believes his contract will expire in January 2022

This could get crazy

If he loses he's definitely a free agent

Today Probably. Francis should do a special 7th Episode to say Peace Dana, F Ferdinand (or whatever his coaches name is), and goodbye to low paychecks.

Stakes haven't felt this high for a fight in a long time, let alone a HW fight. The 2 best active heavyweights, who can easily have long title reigns. Francis betting on himself against his old team.

Devison looks shredded in this camp. Might be his best weight cut to date now that he's working with Fight Ready. I know they work with some lab techs out there and get it down to a science for their cuts and conditioning training.

Trying to figure out how the UFC would have allowed a contract to let a champion leave the promotion

If this comes down to a legal battle, that would be interesting

I don't really have a pick, it's such a great matchup. I am a fan of both guys

Sterling starting off this interview already wondering why Yan pulled out of their scheduled fight

He's fully embraced this villain role

He said when he wins he's going to be "so petty"

Thought him being champ he's essentially on a 1/1 deal. Either 1 fight or 1 year, whichever comes first. So he'd be a free agent by 2023.

Typo on my end lol, meant January 2023

But there was always question about how his contract was structured and the whole Champion Clause thing. Him leaving as champ seems inconceivable. Dana and company gotta be smarter than that, right? lol

From my understanding, he never re-signed when they offered him a new contract before and after the biggy boy fight. So he ended up fighting Stipe with 2 fights(Stipe,Gane) left on his current contract.

They been trying to get him to sign the usual trash championship contract clause they do for their champs the last 6 months, but Ngannou never did.

I think they end up doing a deal win or lose honestly. Dana likes Francis, it's just his manager he hates. Francis is betting on himself and using the fight as leverage. If he loses, then all that goes out the window but that's the risk. UFC would still offer better than any other promotion honestly.

It would be so wild to see a champion leave the UFC, retirement aside

Spicy Chimaev on Wonderboy

“He said maybe I’m gonna fight with him in future. Like this ****, brother are you sure? Your skills, your level, like, is weak. If Belal [Muhammad] hold you down, brother I can put you under the cage brother.” Chimaev said (h/t Sportskeeda) “I don’t know these guys, how they think they will win against me. 10 fights, 10 finishes. And I didn’t lose one second in the fight. I beat everybody. These guys don’t know I’m coming for them. The real money is here Dana White.”

Put him on the UK card!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, is this just a Cowboy Cerrone situation for Amanda Leon?

And I hope Francis wins and gets his bag. He can be a vehicle for those crooked contracts UFC forces the fighters to sign.

Still no CKB for Volk. He hasn't been with them for so long now
COVID.

They still have Eugene joining in the game plan. He’s also there in his corner during the fight. He mainly trains with that Frank guy really. But CKB gets to claim him as a champ.

Volk has such a great fight IQ.

FW GOATs. Aldo, Max, and Volk.
