Agreed I think Dustin v Nate wouldn't necessarily need to headline and wouldn't need to be 5 rounds

But I feel like they def could use them either on the International Fight Week card or some other one that they could finesse another non title PPV event

I think Conor with no leverage though will def be more inclined to taking a UFC fight as soon as he can

tbh Conor and Nate aren't even mildly appealing anymore. They're both washed up

Agree with you 1000% I could care less about Conor vs nate fight. But that fight would be there biggest ppv this year. Both names have a draw unmatched

Always thought Chimaev was all hype but after hearing all these folks that trained with him talk about his skills then seeing these sparring videos leak out of him dropping folks with body shots, the wrestling and then carrying Leech like a damn baby across the octagon... I'm happy as hell that Leon fight fell off and he's getting his title shot first

Well, the sport isn’t kind to the aging. Chimaev isn’t getting glowing praise from the vets for no reason

But yeah I don’t think it’s unfair to take your stance. I’m just already a believer that eventually chimaev will hold the belt

Khamzat is obviously very good but assuming hes better than all these vets is wild to me.

Zhabit was on a similar trajectory for a short period of time. Im excited as anybody to see whats next for Chimaev but I hate how unfair these silly popularity contests are. I want meritocracy. He should have to prove he is that guy.

Kamaru had to win double digit fights. Leon as well. Colby and khamzat get 3 or 4 good wins a row and theyre worthy... though.

You're also assuming things. Nobody said he's already better than all these vets. I said he's inevitable

As far as the UFC being fake now, I mean I don't really buy that at all. All of the champs have had to earn their way to that belt. And it's for the most part always been like that. Even Conor earning the FW belt

If we're talking Interim Champs, yeah, they've made a lot of dumb Interim Belts but at the end of the day, those guys were still the #1 contenders anyway, the belt was just another name for #1 contender. A unification was still required

Gane still beat JDS, Rozenstruik, Volk and Lewis come on now

Colby definitely deserved a rematch based off how close his first fight was with Usman and dominating Woodley

TJ, Conor, Izzy etc. those guys who moved divisions to get an immediate title shot is a different story. Being Champ at one division definitely gives you the cheat code. I won't argue that one, but again that's because they earned their original belt which goes back to my point

My biggest thing is what's the holdup in getting Khamzat a fight. Magny has been out here saying his name, Luque too. Burns has nothing booked.

But again for the most part even true today, there's still a line you have to go through

The exceptions will be the ones who've already accomplished a lot: Conor, Dustin etc. These guys will always probably have the fast track cheat code... but based off their proven winning history. I don't like that but it is what it is

Chimaev beating Burns then getting a title shot would be fast tracking him relative to the other WW contenders. However Usman has beat EVERYONE so it's like, I don't want to see him rematching over and over. If he beats Leon, let him fight new blood

Luque would be the other name I'd like to see vs Usman
