The NBA Draft Thread

^^right a big man with multiple season ending injuries who hasn't played a game in a couple YEARS since college is nowhere close to a smart bet and until he proves he can stay on the court not even mentioning him with best in the class

Talented for sure but u ain't doing **** if u not healthy and reliable ...sixers probly just wanna see him play consistent mins without any issues then they'll take it from there

Really?

I don't see how, Embiid has more talent than anybody in this draft class, as long as his foot/back don't betray him I don't see how he isn't the best player from this class, if we considering this his class.
Embiid would wreck everyone in this current Draft Class barring no injury.

He's missed 164 out of a possible 164 games & you're gonna bet that he's gonna play enough games next year to get the award?

Nah man.

I really really really hope he can just to see what he & Simmons can do over the next decade. That's the most talented rookie duo we've ever had in the league.

Did y'all miss the barring injury or something? :lol

That's obviously factored into the bet hence the 14/1 odds when he is more talented than every other player in the class.

Doctors say he's 100% healthy and all reports are that he's only gotten more skilled in the time off, I would still bet on him.

Doctors :lol He worked out for Cleveland before the draft & their medical test didn't reveal anything major. Few days later he had season-ending surgery. Doctors also said he'd recover after his initial surgery, then he had a substantial setback. So that doesn't mean much.

As for ROY, if Brown is smart, Embiid won't play enough minutes to win the award.

They had him out in Qatar doing all types of illegal medical ****, he gonna come out with a vengeance.

Shirley Temples for everybody in this thread when he wins ROY.

Its funny to me how people are basing Embiid's talent on his lone year in Kansas where he averaged 11 and 8

It's funny that you take those raw numbers at face value too.

Guess Karl Anthony Towns shouldn't have been considered that talented because he only put up 10/6 at UK.

I find it IMPOSSIBLE to believe that Thon Maker fooled the Australian government into giving him a born in 1997 visa. :lol

Because these reddit stories are alleging that he got to Australia with papers that said he was born in 1994 and he was somehow able to get documents saying he was born in 1997.

and if he somehow forge documents, he was able to use those documents to fool both the American and Canadian governments.

Cmon son. :lol

I got tons of extended family coming from africa trying to get british/usa/canadian passports, **** is not a joke. I could believe it if his age changed in Sudan. but not in a 1st world countyr like australia,
Lol its a a lot easier than you think my uncle his teammates all have fake ages due to the government here changing them so they can play in these under 18 type of tourneys and they all have no problems getting visa's the people in the embassy don't really check that they're age is different in the passport and birth certificate.

I don't think Buddy is going to even come close :lol

He won't do well enough off the dribble.
I mean I don't think he has a chance to beat Ben, but that team has nobody that can score. Buddy will be putting up 15 shots a night. Don't really know if anybody else will have anything close to that type of usage. Maybe Lavert too if healthy on that crap Nets team.

I don't really see buddy usage being that high..Tyreke and Holiday love to get theres and have the ball in their hands most of the time..plus of course..you have Davis..I know Gordon underperform and was hurt..but he spent most nights with his hands open at the three point line..I see the same for buddy.

while being a 4+ million view yotube sensation and a 1st overall pick and it doesn't come out untill draft night?

Strains credulity.

Yea I get that but according to the Reddit page you could hear rumblings about him being older I mean the year book said what grade he was on

This video that surfaced makes me feel much better. From 2011, there is no way he is 18 years old in that video. Looks like a 14 year old kid to me.

That would be a horrible bet

That's like saying, "yeah we'll definitely make it to that island as long as our boat that has a hole in it doesn't sink."

He's as healthy as he's been since college though. Furthest along he's been in the recovery process, period.

Is he finally starting to listen to his doctors? When he first got hurt it was reported his rehab was taking much longer because he refused to take their advice and change his bad eating habits.

I'm not certain. Local radio I think mentioned something about his weight issues being blown out of proportion.

Look at Winslow and Stanley Johnson, Winslow seems to have the brighter future just by comparing their offensive moves.

Winslow seems much more fluid, his release is a lot quicker and he just has a better feel on the offensive end.

Just seems a little slow but very strong, he might be better off posting up his man.

It's the exact opposite IMO. Stanley Johnson has ELITE defensive potential and actually looks smooth in his movement and when he goes up for his jumpers. Dude already looks like one of the strongest players in the whole league.

Maybe I should have articulated a little better.

What I am saying is that Justice has the strength, but Stanley has that and much more.

The only thing that bothers me with Stanley's shot is his low release. That would limit his ability as a shooter and post up scorer against elite defenders.
