lmfao his game reminds me of d lee by having a good mid range and play effectiively  in the post but hes also a monster on the glass

6 as in rebounds? How would you feel about building around Brook Lopez? I don't know something just rubs me the wrong way about bigs who float around the perimeter

You don't build around Frank though. He's a piece that provides floor spacing; same thing Lauri is going to do.

I really don't know man. Doesn't seem to be working too well for charlotte. I feel like people get enamored with and overrate bigs who can shoot. It can really open up your offense but it's just a gimmick if the big doesn't actually play like a big

Yes! I totally agree. It seems that if you are tall and can shoot threes, you are automatically regarded as valuable regardless of if you can do anything else. I haven't seen Markkanen play but the only thing I read in scouting reports is that he shoots threes very well. What about defense, rebounding, pick and roll and everything else?

It's kind of like looking for lost keys in a dark room with only a spotlight so you decide to only look for your keys where that spotlight is pointing. Three point range isn't everything.

He can score from pretty much anywhere. Isn't solely a 3 point shooter. Good in pick and roll, pretty good rebounder. Decent athlete. Defense could use some work, but he isn't a turnstile. He'd be a really good fit next to Nerlens in Dallas.

Exactly, he's not just some spot up shooter.

Even so, his shooting is talked about because there haven't been any 7 foot freshmen that have done it has level.

Not the worst thing in the world.

If im looking for a solid role player/starter i'd draft him.
Exactly. After the top 3 picks it's not like you're depending on these guys to build around. Just hope they pan out to be 2nd, 3rd options if anything

If you can get a specialist who can excel in that role, with that kind of size, that's a good haul

As long as a shooting big doesn't give you the Bargnani signals, stretch big men will always be valued highly. Especially with how the league is transitioning

There are some warning signs for Markannen (low assist-block-steal rates), but the sharpshooting, ball handling and mobility-coordination is too good to pass up in the 5-8 range.

Issac making one dribble moves from the 3pt line to the rim, hitting 3's off screens, finishing through contact and protecting the rim.

Top 3.

It's not, but these reports need to show a more holistic view on this guy. We might all hype him up for top 8 but if the draft combine comes along, that might show weaknesses no one talked about. Or he may even jump up the rankings because he may be more well rounded than initially thought.

Monk just a born scorer and dead eye shooter.

His arms are very short and he's not that much of a natural playmaker but his shot creation is there.

Would like to see him get to the basket and finish more but once again I think the length hinders that even though he's a great athlete.

Ultimately if he can continue he's elite shooting into the pros he's going to be a problem.

One thing that I appreciate about Monk is that he is willing to move without the ball, I know it's only highlights, but the way he moves without the ball will give his defender lots of difficulties. His body type is similar to Curry, Rim, Reggie that of a runner. He knows how to get open.
