THE OFFICIAL 2024 - 2025 DALLAS COWBOYS SEASON THREAD || MEH

I thought the throat slash played out a few years ago.
It's a dumb gesture and Dez just won't leave the dumb stuff alone.
He should be held out the first offensive series.
Gotta continue to show him tough love for a little while longer.

Nawww fam, that'd petty as hell of the Cowboys.
It's one of the biggest overblown celebrations by NCAA & NFL, it's 2013, a damn throat slash is really not that serious.

I really don't want to get ahead of ourselves and start looking towards the Denver game before this Chargers game, it'll kill me if we lose to those SD bums, but the biggest reason the Broncos have looked so great is because they've yet to face a good offense. They get up 7-0 or 14-0 on teams quick and then the opposing squad starts pressing an their offense generally isn't built for that, IF the play-calling is on point our offense is trained to go for any situation.

Granted it's overblown but from a perception standpoint it doesn't look good.
Plus the kids see the pros doing it and then you have pop warner and high school players doing it.
Dez just needs to throw up the X get his ***** to the sideline.

These next 2 weeks, we have to everything possible to control the clock. Long drives, gotta keep these high powered offenses off the field, especially Peyton.

Tickets copped, the kid will be in San Diego for the game :hat
Ready to see this defense put the clamps on these scrubs, Rivers... Matthews... Royal... I'm looking at ya'll.

Dallas currently has the number one ranked safety & Offensive Tackle and is second in the league in sacks (while missing two pro bowlers). Not to mention Wilcox graded out as the seventh best safety week 3,would've been even higher if his pick wasn't negated.

Great coaching does wonders.

My homeboy just told me Dez didn't do a "real" throat slash.
It was more of a "this cat can't hold me" gesture.
Which I saw him do, but I figured I missed the "throat slash".
But now I know he didn't actually make that gesture, the fine is unnecessary.

The flag was unnecessary, I didn't see the throat slash either. I thought the flag was for the "X" until I heard the announcers say otherwise :{

Doesn't even matter. Our D didn't give them anything after the penalty :smokin and 8 gs ain't nothing for Dez.

Rod Marinelli's has nicknames for the DL: Jason "Big Daddy" Hatcher, DeMarcus "Long Arms" Ware, Nick "Golden Cock" Hayden, George "Brick Layer" Selvie

:rollin :rollin

Manti Te'o is playing this week.
I hope we run right at him too.
Hopefully we can focus on this game and not look ahead to the circus coming to town the week after.

:smokin Marinelii showing there's always room for improvement

Straight put D Ware on blast.
I'm sure they're going hard on Sean Lee too.
Justin Durant caused a fumble Sunday.

I love it when our linebackers line up on the line of scrimmage like they are blitzing.
And at the snap of the ball they bail out and drop back into coverage.
Also this coaching staff realizes Scandrick is better against the run and blitzing, than he is in coverage.

I hate scan as much as the next guy, but you gotta give credit where it's due. Dude is VASTLY improved in coverage. To the tune of being our Best and most versatile Corner so far this year.

His improvements are eye popping. He blankets receivers outside and in the slot. Gave us a way better chance than mo Claiborne IMO. And scan is actually making plays on the ball!!! Which was always his weak point.

The blitzing is just the icing on top if you ask me !

Scan and hatcher most improved on defense. Free on offense.

:lol I don't know why Scandrick gets such a bad rep. Yeah, I know he has hands of steel, but he's the 7th highest ranked Cb on PFF this year.

because outside of this year he hasn't been very good that's why

everyone is giving him credit this year, he's earned it but before this year he got what he deserved

:lol True. I thought he was decent last year tho. Just happy he's balling this year :smokin Mo is ranked 88th, if/when he gets better our secondary will be :eek :eek :smokin

Scandrick's contract is the reason why he has a bad rep in my book .. dude's been milkin that $30 mil :{ .. He should've been forced into a pay cut like Free.

Scan was alright last year, but in this D he's so much better. He's not Ronde Barber, but that's the role I envision for him now here.

people are talking a lot of sh about Mo, I'm not worried about that kid at all

CB isn't easy, not many guys come into the NFL and just ball out at that position right away. Mo missed a lot of time last year early and he missed basically the entire preseason this year. He's behind playing catch up again. Give him time, if he isn't balling by next season then you worry, but all the people talking about dumping Claiborne now, remember that. I have a feeling they will be very wrong, remember people wanted to trade Dez at this time last year, then the guy puts it all together and all of a sudden they are his #1 fan. I stood behind Dez through all of that, and I'm doing the same for Mo.

Yeah I feel the same with Mo. They should've sat him vs the Giants, clearly wasn't ready. Played well vs KC, just got trucked and people mostly remember that :lol :{ He was great vs the Rams. I think he'll be a perennial top 8 corner in this league. Just can't keep missing offseasons like this.

and people act like they gave up a fortune for him, they gave up a 2nd round pick thats it for a player dubbed the best defensive player in the draft that year

you can't sit there and fault Dallas for that, on tape and on paper the guy was a complete stud coming out of LSU, if he fails in the NFL he fails, but I really can't place any blame on the front office, rather I applaud them for seeing a player they coveted and went up and got him

like I hated this years draft, but I got Dez Bryant (my favorite player in college), Sean Lee, Tyron Smith (a guy I coveted that year), Bruce Carter, DeMarco Murray and Mo Claiborne the previous years, I can't get my way every draft so maybe next year they draft the way I like again

now maybe having say Michael Brockers and Bobby Wagner/Janoris Jenkins would help the team more right now, but at the end of the day they only gave up one extra draft pick to move up like 11 spots or whatever it was

frankly i'm surprised Mo has struggled so far, he was one of the best CBs I've graded in the draft recently, also I had Janoris Jenkins as my 13th rated player that year, CB is a fairly easier position to scout than some others

I mean honestly... has he even struggled? He's started from day one. And other than the Eagles game last year and the Giants this year there aren't any games I can recall in which Mo was terrible.
