The Official Anime & Manga Thread Vol: 三

Yeah the Toriko story is fun and solid, I'm just not a fan of the anime compared to the manga. The anime waters things down a lot and wasn't seen as a great adaptation.
SO you read it ? Recommend reading it instead? I wanted to find a manga to read I’ve only dabbled

If you wanna read let me suggest going a little bit different route. The mangas that dont get the anime shine
Ares
Shin Angyo onshi
Tenjo tenge

Just finished Bleach and I gotta say I enjoyed it especially the fight scenes. Yes they stretch the hell out of them but the fights always seemed epic. When Ichigo used his final tetsugou against Aizen, damn it had me hyped. Does the Manga continue after that?

What else can you guys recommend?

it does, an interesting arc, but not as good. an independent animator is currently animating it

what are you watching anime on?

almost caught up to shokugeki.
im on chapter 280 not bad so far... i see what you mean with them getting in to a more tenny bopper story line. taking away from dish creation how and why.
still decent imo.
the only way to make up for this arc though is to do a flashback arc of Joushiro. either in school or in his travels

For Toriko I definitely recommend reading it over watching it. I personally read most series, just cause of preference and time, I can get through chapters faster than episodes and it's usually more convenient. In some cases it's also a better experience. Like I read one piece then go to the anime for big scenes and some fights and I watch the movies. One Piece has excellent voice acting though. Think my next read might be Way of The House Husband about this former Yakuza who becomes a house husband while his wife works and just gets into issues. Kingdom is another series that is great to read because the anime adaptation is poor.

If you like historical fiction and sword fighting I recommend Vagabond. Art is amazing, story is great. Only downside is it'll probably never get its proper conclusion. Author seems to have left it hanging at the beginning of its last arc. One of my favorite series.

I'm gonna try to watch some series I've been putting off, like Golden Kamuy, Mob Psycho and some others over the holidays.

I mean Asashi is a terrible character, which is a detriment, but you haven't gotten to the worst parts yet, it could have been still salvageable where you're at, unfortunately it keeps going down hill. You'll definitely see what I mean. And yeah they've completely thrown out focus on dish creation and explaining why stuff is good and how it really came together. Food just magically appears on the plate now.

I’m all caught up with black clover,MHA, 7 deadly sins, Naruto, fma/b, bleach, basilisk ninja scrolls( I think that’s what it’s called). Honestly I’m blanking out on what I’ve seen and finished. I’m behind on AoT and Boruto. I’ve tried HxH and it’s just too slow.

Ares is about a boy who lost his master to a killer. He has a good heart but hes out to find dude meets 2 other friends with his skillset along the way to find the bad dude. Amazing story probably my #1 fav

Shin angyo onshi is about an old war general trying to make things right. Meets a warrior chick. Big adventure a lot of talking and historical type manga (not true history) My #2
Tenjo tenge is just craziness highschool with fighters. Gets a bit super powery but good story
My #3

They said HxH is coming to the app and other series. They're still getting all the logistics worked out since this is a big change for them.

kissmanga, mangadex.org is a popular site right now, mangahere, mangarock (I hear they also have a good app). i like kissmangas format where you can put everything on one page and just scroll down, but that site is terrible with ads.

Goodness. This week’s Goblin Slayer was on some Lord of the Rings ish.

The shields the goblins used. :frown::frown::frown:

Looks like Kishimoto(Naruto creator) will be doing a new manga in 2019 called Samurai 8. Apparently it’s a science fiction Samurai series. No idea if it’s related to Samurai 7 anime

MY GOD. THAT LAST EPISODE OF BLACK CLOVER HAD SOME OF THE WORSE ANIMATION I HAVE EVER SEEN. WHAT IS GOING ON OVER THERE BEHIND THE SCENES. IT WAS LAUGHABLY BAD.

Kissanimes view all pages and just scroll is clutch.
I can't go back to anything else after that.

I think they are slashing animation budget, I believe. Heard they make shop around for a new studio *shrugs*
