You don't even see the Young Thundercats rocking much of anything foam related. These are definitely mostly bought by the older heads and true sneaker heads

I actually had OGs and 08s of all 3 OG c/ws so I could NEVER accept these without the correct medial outsole. Ez pass. I'll never buy another pair of FPs until they fix it.

Nostalgia really runs deep for me on these.
7th grade year, I remember seeing a few dudes wearing the gold pair. I believe they came out August of 99. Back then, I thought people who got these were rich lol. $160 was extremely high for shoes back them, But, I fell in love with them the moment I saw them. I remember the eggplant pair came out in a more limited run than the gold pair. I think the eggplants were a Footaction exclusive, or an Athletes Foot Exclusive. I fell in love with the eggplant colorway, also. Now, when the black pair came out, I wanted those, so bad! I remember a dude in class was wearing them and I couldn’t stop staring at his shoes. They were so dope! I think those sold out because I don’t recall seeing those at any stores. The gold and the eggplant colorway definitely went on sale for well under $100 here in the DMV(PG county to be exact).
Now, when the all black Flightpisite 2 KG’s came out July of 2000(they were $160 as well), I believe the Charcoal and red Flightpisite 1’s came out a few months later and the silver pair. Of course, my mom wasn’t paying $160 for them. So, I had no hope in getting those lol. Flash forward to February of 2001 in my 8th grade year, walk into the Athlete’s foot in Eastover shopping center in PG county and saw the charcoal/red flightposites still sitting on shelves on sale for $109.99 along with the silver pair. My mom surprisingly gave me an option and I chose the charcoal/red pair. I only got them because they were on sale lol. You couldn’t tell me nothing when I wore them that Monday to school after getting them. My very first Flightposite!! The shoe just felt so premium at the time. What’s crazy is, I almost got the all black FP2’s, which was also on sale for $99.99. I remember trying them on, but my mom noticed how dusty it was and it appeared that it may have been worn, so we passed on that pair.

My nostalgia is one of simple humble beginnings. I was in 6th grade in 1999 and had no interest in sneakers. But when the Solo flights released a year later, and a couple of my friends in my school was rocking them I had to get them. I loved how futuristic they looked. I go to a family party rocking my brand new solo flights, and my own cousin and his friends start clowning me because I had on the “fake” flightposites. Meanwhile I had never even heard of them before (keep in mind I’m in middle school) but boy did I remember the humiliation I felt. Glad to finally add the real flightposites to my collection (even if it’s with the wrong sole).

As someone that owned the OGs and plenty of them, I was highly against the sole change. But....they were able to get the color(as far as I can tell) closer to the og. I love the shoe too much to pass and I knew I would have regretted passing. Ah well.....

, I understand the hate and it def changes the appearance of the shoe. That being said, I’m hyped to get mine in the mail today. Using that 15% code from that site lessens the blow at least a little

quick on feet. The color in hand is great, I get the hate but once they’re on feet man these are super comfy. Owned 2008s as well so I’m just happy to have a wearable pair again

.I wouldn't take these for free. Passed on every single pair last time they dicked around with the soles. That meant missing out on the H20 PE, which was always a grail too and the Royal Foam inspired pair which was a good concept.
I'd rather spend $240+ on an OG or 08 pair and pay to have the soles fixed.
For those willing to accept the differences, I'm glad you guys like them.
