I rock with white ropes as my pieces are white gold. I think a white rope is an excellent choice, but It has to be diamond cut. I was looking for a 10mm, but it was only special order 6-12 weeks. The only place I found that had heavy white or yellow ropes in stock were jewelry shops in Hawaii. They did NOT want to do business through the mail. They were all in store only. This is a pic of my 18k cross on a 14k 8mm rope. I thought the chain was a tad long @26.5 inches and I wanted at least 9mm. preferably 10mm. The cross is full size and this pic I was much fatter so the chain don’t look to thick for 8mm.

I got a pretty decent 3mm rope but 4-5 would be more ideal. Around 22inch but I went to 2 local stores and all they had were hollow ropes. Joints felt like loose leaf paper.

that pic was at the jewelry store, i never bought the chain as i am looking for one a bit thicker. then gold prices shot way up. my cross is like 80 grams, the rope was like 140 grams.

Franco is a heavy as link as is.
4mm and 18k+ should be damn near double that weight.

I just assumed it was understood that it was hollow at 22grams. To me still a good deal for 21k gold

Yea Is pretty hollow.. out here gold is in abundance but for some reason they like to sell and/or assume people are looking for hollow jewelry. Any other opinions? Also, anyone know the average grams for a 4mm 18K 24in rope?

I would say around 30 grams.
My opinion is always buy what you want. F#*k what anyone think you the one that got to rock it. Hollow chains are prone to snapping
