Yea, theyre apple certified to work and they come with the same warranty, might have some MIIIIINOR cosmetic blemishes but thats about it, if you'restrapped for cash then get the refurb

im assuming its the 15 inch? Yea thats pretty good. make sure its the one with multi touch.

Upgrade the memory for about $55, I have these and they work perfectly

Amazon product ASIN B001265GI2

Yes its the unibody model. 15 inch with Multi touch.

I was looking at the 1699 model... but that doesn't have the dedicated video.

Figure I can easily upgrade to 4 GB. And the slightly faster processor and memory card reader I can get by without

Damn if its the unibody then definitely snatch that up, but the battery life on the newer unibody is OOOOOOOOEEEEE

I can get an Open Box Macbook Pro for 1119.99

Its the older model. The one that was 1999.99

So 2.4 GHz, 2GB Memory, 256 Dedicated Video.. Mac fans should know what I'm talking about
I wouldn't say that was a steal but its a decent deal. 2.6 and 4GB Memory would have been better for that price.

Here's what I did:
1)clipped a song to 30 sec.
2)converted to aac
3)deleted it from itunes and renamed the ext from m4a to m4r
4)re-added it back to itunes.

Now I see it under ringtones in itunes, but when i go to settings > sounds > ringtones I can't find it.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
You have to actually sync it to your phone...just like you would any kind of song or movie...

As I stated... i was looking at the 2.53 Model with 4 GB for 1700. But even then you arent getting as good of a video card. With the video card I'm lookingat its costing you 2G's. If you expect there to be a Macbook Pro with those specs at that price

Plus for 60 bucks I can upgrade to 4 GB

I am completely ignorant to Macs, but obviously have heard good things regarding their reliability and use in media.

My fiance wants to start a photography business, and will need to upgrade her computer. She essentially would be running Photoshop and maybe more specificallyAdobe Creative Suite (version 4?).

Some business software would be along the lines of quickbooks (or similar).

Since she won't be doing video editing, I didn't think a "mac pro" was worthwhile....we'd prefer a desktop.

Suggestions? We'd like it to last many years (in terms of its computer power for the software she needs it for).

We'll upgrade her mac book (4th gen, I think) with more memory as 1gb is extremely insufficient.

Any help would be greatly appreciated....I can try and answer other questions too if I haven't been as descriptive.

First thing first..get a bigger HD and more memory for her Macbook..

Then as far as the Desktop computer she will be fine with the 24in Imac..the bigger screen is better for editing..get an external HD so that she can store mostof the picture on that..and only put on the computer what she needs at the time. I also suggest getting as much memory and Ram.for the desktop as well....

Link

This is something that you could start with..the screen is big enough..and if you have the money then go with the Top of the line.macs will last you allday....its not like a windows computer where after you put 10 programs on it it starts to bug out..im kinda hoping something happens to mine do i can"justify" getting my MBP in oct..otherwise imma be coping for the hell of it...

Thank you - we're looking into a external HD. I have a lenovo for work, and need to take some stuff off of there but would like to have one which we bothcan share.

We went to the mac store yesterday, but it is closed till 8/22 for construction.

Memory is going to be for sure the next purchase.

Question....is using Limewire a good idea on Macs? Im about to get a MBP and I'm wondering if I'll get viruses...never did on my PC but I don'twanna take the risk

How did you get the album cover to display on the desktop while iTunes is playing?

PO
Program called Coversutra

Thanks I guess I'll have to find something else though, since it is for a 10 Day Trial.

There's another one called Bowtie which is free. You can find different themes for it atdeviantart.

I picked up that display MBP for 1063.99

The only thing wrong with it is the hinges on the screen seem really lose... If I put the laptop at an angle.. the screen falls down... should I be worriedabout this?

What would you guys reccomend I use for an Unarchiver ? Can't remember what its called.

And yeah.. just when i put that comp at close to a 90 degree angle.. the screen falls on its own.. not a big deal since I don't use the comp like that..but would be nice to get fixed

Would apple tak care of this for me?

Probably, I'd go in store if I were you.

I use Zipeg for a unarchiver, and it works perfect for me.

I'm totally loving this MBP now, I was a windows only dude til this time lol. I still need my windows os though most business software are made for windowsand I'm going to business school this upcoming fall. I'm thinking vmware fusion/parallels or just straight up bootcamp, anyone have experience with anyof these? I'm thinking of just getting parallels since its only 40 for me with student discount but I wanna hear real life user experiences outthere...thanks

VMW fusion is the best IMO...especially if u don't plan on running apps that are cpu heavy. The app lets u dock windows apps to your macdoc...you can run multiple OS at the same time. No boot necessary and its close to native speeds.I originally copped it for a music app that I couldn't runon mac but now I hardly every use it. Best bang for the buck.

Mostly used it running WinXP BTW on Leopard
