exo, you at ft. Bragg, cuz? I was stationed at Pope AFB, before it was turned over to the Army. Used to watch yall 82nd dudes jump out of airplanes every Saturday morning lol

Fayetteville, NC sucked. Good ol' Skibo road and Bragg Blvd lol.

Man I was on ft Bragg the day of 9/11 back in 2001..talk about a scary...
 
Full time Air Guard (Air Force) , hitting my 10 year mark this September. My only regret is not joining sooner. AFSC is 2a571, Crew Chief. I've got to party and get drunk all over the world, and be paid for it! In all seriousness, best life decision I ever made.

When is your ETS date? You can start ACAP'ing 18 months before your ETS date. My ETS date is JUL 3rd of this year, but my terminal leave starts on May 3rd. The very first thing I did when I got my transition orders last month was print off my clothing record and did a TA-50 layout. I went to CIF and turned in everything that isn't ETS transferable to complete the only "difficult" thing, everything else is easy. Have you started posting your resume? Hopefully this helps:

Advancement results came out today. If you are in the navy congrats to those who made it and those who didn't hold your head b, you got it in september. I just put on second :pimp:
 
In my last week of clearing. This ETS has been pretty hectic. Only thing holding me back is getting an actual date for the movers to come grab my household goods. Transportation providers are backed up due to the PCS/ETS season. All kinds of emotions running. Praying the transition back to civ life goes smooth for my fam and I. Hope it works out for us.

As long as you have a plan A, B, and C; along with motivation you'll be fine. Thing is you have way more skill sets that'll help you out tremendously in the civilian world. Best of luck.

Ehhh, can't really input much about transitioning out. Did you go to TAPS class? Heard they give hella great info for members who plan on getting out. Especially dealing with the VA and such.

Military fam, this is absolutely the worst time of the year for me. I am a E6/MA1 in the Navy and I am up for Chief (E7). I hate the damn wait. One minute I'll be like "I'm good" everything that they're looking for I have it already, and sometimes I'm like "I'm screwed, I wont pick up" the anxiety and nervousness I wouldn't wish on anyone. The sad part about it is if you don't pick up Chief you'll never get any feedback as to why so you're left wondering why not.

My old LPO is LIMDU as well, and I think he'll pick up this year. Most of our strong PO1's that are CPO eligible have transferred and will definitely pick up I think this year.

damn hopefully u make it this time. are u missing anything in particular when compared to your peers or based on the precepts? at my command we have most of the Phase 2 events planned out already and are anticipating the results by the end of July also.

Wanted to ask the folks who've been overseas, how is it ordering from NDC, FNL and FTL/Co? I'm going to Oki and will probably cut back on shoes but will get that major release here and there.
 
I'm far removed from the military about 9 years from my separation date, back in my day it was pickyourshoes.com ....... I was in italy, you could order shoes on a Monday and they'd get there by Wednesday or Thursday. It was lightspeed for 2002-2004

But.............You going to JAPAN bro?? You worried about shoes bro?? Shoot I wish they would've sent me there.

Only places I had on my dream sheet (Base of preference) was Japan / EU / AZ. / & FL.

Dealing with the APO address was funny

I ordered a pair of ESPO AF2s from GOOEY WOOEY (GOOEY WONG) the London Air Max Legend.

They went from LONDON to my APO in NY, back to ITALY

Thanks for reading this, and have fun I think there's a mess of shoe stores over there. Hopefully youre still there in 2020 for the Olympics
 
Like Sky Walker said above, you're worried about shoes? Lol. But naw, I guarantee you'll see plenty heat over there that you can't get back here in the States. I was detached to Dubai so I alway caught hella stuff, and the GR's from the States also drop overseas. In the UAE we would get releases like weeks late but still we got them regardless.
 
I'm going to Oki, so the shoe situation will be a lot different than on the main land.

As far as going overseas, I'm cool with it except I have a four-year old daughter (and who is special needs), so I won't see her as much as I want besides Skype or occasional leave.

But Okinawa is like a beach resort. The weather is tropical, humidity similar to Florida. The water is beautiful. There's obviously going to be the cuisine. Looking forward to finally trying CoCos.

I'd love to get based in Italy or UAE. But Uncle SAMs Misguided Children doesn't exactly have too many great slots overseas (besides Germany, Mt Fuji, Iwakuni, Australia, etc).
