Why did you think we were paying them? The money has to come from somewhere to maintain and renovate all this infrastructure that they manage, but no one wants higher taxes for the rich. I'm aware that they mismanage money but should we let everything crumble and collapse to teach them a lesson about fiscal responsibility? Is that going to make traffic better in this city? Improve train and bus times? Metrocard price still going up this year. That's the real tax on the poor. And it has to because of all the concessions to drivers from the original congestion pricing plan. Drivers don't subsidize public transport, it's the other way around.
