The Official NBA Season Thread: Business is about to pick up 🗣️

Hartenstein is one of them players that just does everything right. Good fit for any teams.

Surprised he’s bounced around so much
His improvement is part of why he’s moved in the last few years. The Clippers wanted to bring him back but could afford to pay him what he was worth.

SGA would win MVP if they still gave it to the best player on the best team.

Russ and Jokic stat padding 6th place MVPs set the wrong precedent

Now the only shot SGA got is Jokic voter fatigue
Best player on the best team was the wrong lazy precedent set to begin with

Booker and Jaylen Brown would have MVPs by this logic

Which year? Jaylen over Tatum? Booker over KD?

Anyway, Steve Nash, Duncan, Allen Iverson, all deserving MVPs

Good to see the rockets play in a playoff intensity type game. They really need another player they can’t ****house wins against good teams consistently

I still can’t tell if Dillion Brooks is throwing the ball at the rim or he’s shooting the ball at the rim.

They gotta move Green. He’s a cone on defense. Amen’s offense will catch up to his defense, shot is still kinda flat but I think he can get that right.

the unwritten 50 game winner requirement made sense given the history of the NBA.

- the best players player more minutes back in the day
- lower depth of skill meant the most talented players had a bigger impact on winning and losing
- we didn't have the ability to watch all the games
- we had more primitive statistics.

but it's 2024, we have the footage, we have all the stats. we can use our brains and figure out who should win the MVP .

we don't need any "best player on the best team" heuristics anymore.

22' Suns, last year Celtics

Every guy you named didn't win MVPs simply being the best player with the best record

Whole reason why they used to vote that way was because most voters didn't or couldn't watch as much as they do now and just standings watched

Why would they move him when they got him on that team friendly deal right now. It’s his time to show and prove. Hes gotta be the one to close out games.

I enjoyed that game a fair amount.

Not enough to care, but I was entertained.

A casual viewer watching today...probably won't watch again and say basketball is mid.
