Agreed. Save your money dude and get to know the city before you commit to the house. Condo is still a strong restate investment and he could even keep it and just rent it out down the line.

The only hesitation I would have for him and his brother is the ease of access when you're that well known. People in your building won't trip over who you are because everyone has money, but sometimes that ease of access can get you caught up with the wrong people.
