The Official NBA Season Thread: I’m like Jayson Tatum in the Olympics I'm not playing

Anyone remember the last all star game that was competitive? Deke changed the tone of that game defensively. AI and Marbury led the offense. But, Mutumbo was on it on the other end of the court. I still think that game got him traded to Philly. Watching it then, he should have won the mvp of that all star game.

Yup. Larry Brown confirmed it back then.

Random but the pelicans should have made a move for KAT.
Listening to the Simmons/Austin Rivers pod about the trade right now and Bill thinks that they were in the mix with some sort of Ingram package. Maybe another team two.

May have added to the weird timing of the trade, plus part of the reason why the Knicks had to give up White Donte when they probably didn’t want to.

Who knows.

Nostalgia a hell of a a drug.

Those purple raptors unis are perfect tho.
Example, I hate the 90s Pistons jersey but don't think they were liked by the public in the 90s all that much either. But people now seem to love them?

Pretty much all of the animal units are cold af. Bucks, Raptors and Hawks immediately come to mind.

More diverse color palettes instead of every damn near every team having some version combo of black, red, white and blue.

Perfect example. I think those pistols unis are great just off the color choices but if these didn’t come out in the 90s and came out now as a new uniform the same people who love em now as a retro thing would clown em cause people just love hating on new ****. Same thing in NFL with the Bucs and the creamcicles for example. Those were HATED when they first came out and now when the Bucs wear em it’s nothing but fire emojis.

I was going to say the exact same thing. The more teams get away from the basic Red, white, and blue, the better. It makes sense for Philly (because of the name and history) and Washington (being the capital), but teams like Detroit can get so much more creative.

Even though I like their new jerseys a lot, the Clippers dropped the ball in this respect. The orange and powder blue would've crushed with their new jerseys.

Glad Tatum is getting a second chance in Abu Dhabi, to shoot and play as much as he wants. And doesn't have to worry about being benched.
