The Official NBA Season Thread: Kings Fire Mike Brown

Sam was like, "I got jokes too" and never stopped

That is when you need a third guy in studio to jump in and change the subject. I know it is preseason, but someone has to be in their ears

NBA HR dept working Friday night and weekends. Legal team probably going over how they can fire him

Guess I’m going to have keep posting this whenever a Jersey retirement gets announced.

Also, in a similar vein, I don't see Dwight Howard getting his jersey retired in Orlando, even thought it should be. He had the greatest career of any Magic player (while playing for them), and it's not like Shaq left on good terms either, yet he got his jersey retired.

I knew people would bring up a tall seven foot guy as a response, but a seven footer is better than Bronny just by the fact he can stand in the paint and offer value in rim protection. It bother's the "bag" fans but height is a skill in basketball, just as girth and being fat is a skill for o-lineman. Bronny literally is tiny, can't run offense, can't shoot, etc.

He offers zero attributes to justify even the fantasy of him being a positive on the basketball court. And people can celebrate the nepotism because "they do it too" but the reality is he probably is taking up a spot that would be going to someone who is black and does deserve it.

Chris Smith was at least one of the better guards in the Big East when the Knicks did it. He was a succesful college player even if he didn't deserve to be on the Knicks. Bronny offers nothing and is closer to being a D2 player than an NBA player.

Facts.

There was def some pre existing beef between Sam and the co-host because the dude was just making play on Kerr not getting a medal and turning it into a VERY mild joke.

Reminded me of this

Damn. I actually missed this part . I was talking about how angry he seemed at the co-host when talking about the preseason stats and the kings defense….but I didn’t know it got here. Yikes

Sam Mitchell is one of those rare guys who is probably super self conscious about his career as a coach, rather than as a player. He's probably resentful for not getting another head coaching opportunity after being COY during his stint in Toronto. But, he was so old school, and the NBA had passed him by. Probably an okay assistant, but not a head coach at all but the 2010s.

By comparison, George Karl took three different franchises to conference finals (and one Finals). Many former players talk crap about him, but he got results almost everywhere he went. He's content with his coaching career, and is a HOFer. Mitchell just seems slighted.

You’re absolutely right
A 7’ scrub and 6 foot scrub are not the same. He’ll get numerous chances.

Like a 4.30 receiver with no hands will get endless chances in the NFL vs a slow receiver:lol:
