The Official NBA Season Thread: Kings Fire Mike Brown

Does load management ever actually work? Like has a team won a ring by doing this?
Celtics just did it with Zingus and Horford.

Not sure it would work quite the same if they had to do it with The Jays though.

That non dynasty in San Antonio started it and now everyone does it. If David stern would have took it serious when they pulled that stunt against the heat in 2013, it wouldn’t be an issue now. The only good thing that has came from it is they got rid of 4 games in 5 nights.

It worked with kawhi on the raptors... When he was with the clippers I think his health just deteriorated so load management wouldn't make a difference

I got the C’s and Lakeshow winning tonight. Them boys aint losing on banner night, and Bron is gonna play his best game in years if Bronny checks in. He already know the noise thats gonna happen if they lose.

It’s hard to judge how effective Kawhi’s load management has been with the Clippers because in two different seasons his playoff run was ended by a contact injury. 2021 he took a knee from Joe Ingles in the second round and ended up with a partially torn ACL. Missed the whole next season because of it. 2023, he tears his meniscus in the 1st round against the Suns.

So, in most of the years he was with the Clippers when he load managed, he got one playoffs healthy, which was the goal, but got injured during the playoffs.

This last playoffs in 2024 was different. He just couldn’t go because of inflammation; not a specific injury. You may be right that he’s reached a point that his knee has degenerated to the point that load management won’t matter. But that wasn’t always the case.

IHart being out 6 weeks for the Thunder sucks, but it forces the decision of who starts for now out of he and Caruso, and the Thunder looked crazy with Caruso on the court and particularly SGA and Dubb increasing their 3pt volume (has to be the only time in his career he hit 6 in a half for SGA) their 3pt output. I also like the big to big action we were seeing with Hart and Chet allowing Chet to be more assertive on the perimeter with ball handling and making some plays

So that’s what I’m getting at. You are just pushing a potential injury down the line. Embiid can break his face again or somebody fall on his knee in the first round.

do you guys think that lebron and anthony edwards will have 25+ points each ?

help

how about celtics to win by 7+ ?
