The Official NBA Season Thread: Kings Fire Mike Brown

Did he peak? Sure. Can’t luck your way into a title though. Down 2-0 and a broken leg. Had 50 in a closeout game.

he did what was necessary, got a great match up in the suns.

but i dunno,
I feel like because Gannis is a likeable nice guy, we give him the benefit of the doubt.

any other superstar, there is a really negative narrative you can paint of Gannis's career.
but you never hear people do it.

if you were starting the NBA from scratch the season should probably be like 40-50 games.

that would a low enough number that every game would matter, and make every regular season game more of an event.
You could charge more money for games.

imo the NBA would make more monye.

70 games, imo does nothing. it might help with injuries but its not a low enough number to make the regular season games matter more.
Definitely wouldn't make more money

We haven’t had a repeat champion in what, 7 years?

im not saying he should have repeated. or he didn't deserve his ring or anything.

im just saying, if you look at this fact pattern

- Gannis has made very minimal improvements to his game.
- his defense is declining,
-normally as great players decline physically and on defense they make it up with skill development.
Gannis appears to be regressing.
-they fired Bud, traded for Dame,
his effort level on defense level imo hasn't been that great.
- he's making weird comments about getting traded early this year

IMO I feel like if this was true of any other superstar, he's be getting some scrutiny.
but for some reason it seems like everyone is focused on Doc Rivers.

yah theres a loud group of people who don't like drake. im aware.
My annoyance comes from people pretending that its anything other than that.

it has nothing to do with the actions of whatever he did. some people just don't like him personally. which is fine.
No, his actions over the years (that have become increasingly cringe lately) are why people think he’s a loser. It seems like you’re missing that

yah i don't agree.
there was always a sizable minority of people who fundamentally didn't like him from basically the jump.

its just now on trend to do so those people are extra loud with it.
if drake did nothing, they would make fun of him for showing up and doing nothing.

if he came there and hugged demar derozan they would make fun of him for being a jock rider.

ect ect.

its just on trend thing to be doing. the actions are irrelevant.

His entire supporting cast either washed or injured when it matters too

Its time for a change of scenery. Mightve reached his limit in Milwaukee
He's still putting up MVP numbers but his cast is weaker than its been in years past, to go with all the injuries, and they have a terrible coach.

Him and Dame can't overcome all those deficiencies alone and they've been trying

NBA is a volume sport, not a event sport. It is what it is.

i don't think that inherit to basketball,
it's just the way things turned out due to random accidents of history.

EPL teams play like 40-45 games?

Given how much more distance is covered in basketball, today vs when it started and the increased intensity required to play defense.

I don't see how NBA basketball is any less taxing than big time soccer.

imo it should become an event sports, but they lack the will to do it.

Too much greed to change in the immediate. Would be interesting if they scaled down.

To his credit, Silver has tried with the IST, play-in, Saturday night on ABC, soon the NBA on NBC Sundays.

Yup, theres people who never liked Drake, the person and the music. Then there was the whole Drake sucks type beat when KL was doing his thing, and im willing to bet a bast majority of those haters have a ton of Drake tracks in their album. :lol

Bucks dominated the first half and the Celtics lead three minutes into the third lol.

You don’t think there’s a sizable group of people who are around Drake’s age, enjoyed his music for years and have been cringing at what he’s been doing the last few years?

The people who didn’t like him from the jump usually aren’t pearl clutching. They just hated the dude
