after the first straw poll came out and jokic was far and away the favorite for MVP, the talking heads went to work pretty much as a whole. including the typical embiid pandering and "people dont like me" speech.

and again, i am not here to say who i think shouldve won and who shouldnt. either of the 3 mentioned were well deserving.

I think the multiple Twitter feeds regularly putting out Jokic defensive lowlight videos had some influence as well.

exactly. while not on twitter, i do watch and listen to a TON of basketball tv, podcasts and radio...

when that first straw poll came out, the tide swung away from jokic to embiid AND continued thru the second poll.

at that point, the nuggets couldve went undefeated and jokic had 20/20/20 triple doubles and still would'nt have won it.

embiid did interviews and begged for it once again with the whole "people just dont like me" spill.
