The Official NBA Season Thread: NBA Cup Night

Bill Simmons tweeted this hours ago, and got dragged on Twitter for having no proof. Now, everyone else is reporting it. Simmons is so connected to the NBA that you can't doubt his inside scoops anymore. He's called every major move in the NBA (from an ownership and media standpoint) and been right.
Bill may have crazy opinions and hot takes, but he is still pretty spot on when reporting actual news.

That's why he prefaces literally of his opinions/predictions on the podcasts by telling everyone to not aggregate them as "news". When he reports actual news, it's real. He's very self aware.

Also, WWW called him out saying there was no news about recruiting talent to NBC/Amazon. Except, Jalen Rose signed on with NBC sports last week. That means something.

LeBron looking his age tonight.

(He’ll probably score 15 straight points now that I said that).

Just like the last 2 years playoffs he will be gassed. Lakers should be ashamed of themselves. Depending on a 39 year old to save them all the time .

What happened to NBA on NBC? I thought they were bringing that back.

It is. The head honcho at Warner threatened to sue over the rights. He had no case, so the NBA helped negotiate a resolution. It appears the following will happen:

1. Inside The NBA will remain a Warner property, but licensed to ESPN. Studio location and production remains the same, but Inside moves to ESPN.

2. Warner gets some college sports from ESPN (Big-12 football and basketball).

3. Roundball Rock: apparently, there is no deal yet for it.
