None of the other dudes really connect with the youth like LaMelo. I never hear kids talking about Wemby, Tatum, Luka, and I barely hear them talk about the supposed second coming of Michael Jordan.

LaMelo is a God to the shorties. My Nephew and all his friends think he is the shxt. And In the eyes of a 10 year old I get it

And dont get me wrong, Melo can hoop. I dnt take him as a serious player, but the shorties dont care bout that. For them the all star level play, highlights, and “swag/aura” is all thats needed.

Well, I guess it’s good to hear the kids are talking about something NBA related, even if it is LaMelo. And it doesn’t involve parlays and over/unders.

Mavericks L cavs twice and Lamelo could be a rough week. Trae been shooting less passing more and playing off ball more but I don’t see any evidence it’s making our offense better. If this is the growing pains this season Quinn wants us to go through so Daniel’s, Zac and Jalen are better on ball players and Trae get better off ball so be it but as far as winning games the offense is definitely not better for it rn.

One player that’s disappointing me for the Hawks is Okongwu, he still can’t clearly beat out Capela for the center spot…I had a feeling it was a waste of a the 6th pick when they took him but it’s really been showing over time

They had a prime chance to pick some impact players in the top 6 but whiffed on O and Hunter

Still depends on the player. You can tell lamelo to be creative because a he’s naturally an artist. Same dad probably told Lonzo to do the same thing and yet he had none of the individual creativity Lamelo has.

In terms of level of fame and being a box-office draw in the United States right now, that might be true. If we expand it out internationally, then I'm not so sure. I doubt she has the following in places like Europe and Asia that younger NBA stars do.

*Edit - and thinking about it more, I'm not sure she's actually a bigger star in the US right now than Ant is. He's got the shoe of the year and multiple national ad campaigns for huge brands, among other things. Might be a wash between Ant and CC here in the US if endorsement deals are factored into the "biggest star" analysis.

No way she is bigger star than ANT, LUKA or WEMBY in any way shape or form.

In terms of growing a sport you really can't compare the WNBA to any other sport.

In any case, i doubt CC is more popular than Luka, Wemby, Ant. At the same time, not really an indictment on CC. probably not fair to compare the popularity of WNBA players to the NBA considering the NBA players have significantly more exposure globally
