I've seen expand the circle further out as one idea. You basically prevent the slide under so close to where a players is launching to the basket

Eliminate the charge altogether

Legit offensive fouls aren’t the issue. If an offensive player is barreling down the lane out of control, then yeah, of course that’s a foul. But this whole slide under a player at the very last second instead of contesting a shot is wack

it looks like the highest numbers in the league are less than 2 drawn charges per game.... so i feel like we could just get rid of that crap and not really notice it. Lose one to two drawn charges per game to prevent all the dumb block/charge debates, injuries from people getting undercut, flopping for charges, etc.

Right. Basically just get rid of the “player control” variety of foul. But you could still have offensive fouls for things like off-arm push-offs, leading with elbows out, illegal screens
