The Official NBA Season Thread: NBA Cup Night

That's gotta be awkward considering Grant Hill is a minority owner of the Hawks and runs USA basketball.

Damn Trae reputation really shot like that? This early in his career too? 🤦🏾‍♂️

Joe Vardon wrote Trae and Beal are locks for 2024. But that was back last October.

Trae should be on the team. Hart should be replaced.

Regardless, this team will get killed on the boards.

Trae got married a couple weeks ago right?

Could him wanting to enjoy it and have a honeymoon be apart of it?

Trae not a good fit on the team. Want to go smaller and play him next to Brunson? Next to Haliburton?

He shot <43% this last season, while Haliburton/Brunson shot >49%. Haliburton and Brunson COMBINED have less turnovers last year than Trae by himself.

Putting Trae in for anyone on that team would make team USA: Smaller, less efficient, worse on defense.

Trae shown if he doesn't have the ball in his hands, he's not interested. Foul baiting ain't gonna work like it does over here either.

Smaller quick PnR guards generally succeed in FIBA.

For all his flaws, he's an elite playmaker, and this team really doesn't have anyone that can get others involved like that.

They dont need a Paolo or Hart type player.

For this team and FIBA play, yes. In an NBA setting, I'm probably still taking Hali.

Just less overall flaws and easier to build around.
Less overall flaws in what way? Both are negatives defensively. Trae gets you the same playmaking while being the better scorer.
