The Official NBA Season Thread: NBA Cup Night

How did the bulls have a top 5 defense with Vucevic at center?

How does Ime replicate that with Sengun?

I only know this because they repeatedly beat me when I picked the over on their games. So much so that I had to stop

But they had incredible 3 point shooting luck. Won’t hold up next year. Or maybe it will  Its really a coin flip.

In a regular season environment, 3 point defense doesn’t really matter. Meaning there’s nothing you’re doing to really affect how well the other team shoots from out there.

That’s far from true in a playoff environment - for example - how much the Lakers were bothering the Warriors - but in the regular season the gameplans usually aren’t that complex night to night and you’re not giving that sort of effort night to night.

So theoretically you want to force the other team into midrange jumpers & floaters, hence drop coverage at its best.

The Bulls defense gave up the fewest midrange attempts in the league… because Vuc was in a deep drop so everybody was opting to bomb away from 3 against them instead

Fewest midrange attempts allowed, 3rd most 3 point attempts allowed, particularly from the corner.

Pure luck that they didn’t get gashed, again from the corner.

With Giannis Antetokounmpo openly questioning his future with the Milwaukee Bucks, teams have begun to plan for the possibility he becomes available via trade. The futures of Joel Embiid with the Philadelphia 76ers and Luka Doncic with the Dallas Mavericks have created a situation where multiple MVP candidates become available in a trade over the next year.

This situation is one of the factors that has also diminished the trade market for Damian Lillard.

"What the trade market, the NBA portal, is going to look like next summer," said Adrian Wojnarowski. "There could be some massive talents available for trades next season. Maybe at the trade deadline. Maybe next year. You have teams weighing the assets they might use to trade for Damian Lillard versus who could be available that 'we don't want to be out of the game for some players younger.' First-team All-NBA type of players who may be in that marketplace."

I'm taking "You don't have the credentials".

Using that in this very thread.

Film of the last 2 FMVPs?

Jokic is a terrible example to use for young players unless you have a 6'10+ kid on your roster and even then...no.

Steph is actually a good example to use if you want to teach players how to move off the ball. But that's it. Terrible teammate and leader though. Lets his teammates get snuffed out.

Draymond and Klay are the best players to watch on that fraud team.

Every generational talent is a terrible influence on the youth
