When it comes to getting buckets it might be a wash but PG getting way more money then Demar isn't really surprising.
Demar is a specialist and the current analytics downplay his biggest strength.
PG is the posterboy for 2 way wings. His skillset translates on any team and he can be used in a variety of ways so you pay a premium for that.

It’s as much about LeBron as it is about the Lakers, IMO.

I’m saying there’s a lot of extra stuff that comes with being on LeBron’s team that a lot of guys don’t want to deal with, particularly now that it doesn’t come with a high expectation of at least reaching the Finals.

Players don’t want to play with Lebron* because if you don’t contribute to him winning, the blame always falls on his supporting cast. If he wins however, he gets all the credit. His presence is domineering.
Not everyone wants the speckle/circus of being the guys teammate. Look at all the coaching turnover involved with the guy.
