40 minute game is definitely the better tv product (see the Olympics), but the players would never ever agree to this.

It's probably just me but let things play out on your current team first before you focus on retirement.

I really don't see the big deal about the suggestion. He said it is being discussed, he didn't say it was happening, he makes good points as to why it might be a positive.

Taking 8 minutes off the game and you might as well throw away comparing eras. What’s wrong with 48 minute games for pros? Too much adjusting, even to a coaching standpoint. Also why? Why is that being discussed? This is not an issue

Would we also adopt the FIBA rules that promote a faster paced game or just shave off eight minutes?

Leave the game alone. Trying to appeal to the casual fan is a losing battle.

People have convos about changing the game all the time in real life and on the Internet.

Adam Silver is the damn commissioner, part of his job is exploring those issues

Silver even said one of the issues with 40 mins would the history books. I don't think the league should not even discuss improving the TV product because of casual sports conversations.

Pros play 40 mins all over the world. Euroleague plays 40. We were all in here going nuts during 40 minute FIBA games. 40 minute games doesn't ruin pro basketball.

You just like the status quo, fine. Other people might not feel the same.
