The lakers suck

MVP MVP you see beastbrook revenge 😤

A fun trip down memory lane is looking at the East records from the 2000s. No wonder some of those teams won titles. They had a cake walk to the finals and were rested. The West was a bloodbath every year. I think the 8th seed in the west had 50 wins twice in the mid-2000s to early 2010s.

That 2015 year was insane. The spurs were the defending champions with 55 wins…as a 6 seed. Playing the 56 win clippers as a 3 seed.

Meanwhile, in the East….

An early sign on how much of a **** up coach Doc Rivers would be, is when he let a 37 win Hawks team take his 66 win team Celtics to 7 games in 2008 :lol

Thinking back further, Doc blowing that 3-1 lead with Tmac against Detroit was the firs sign. That’s the year they went to 7 game series in the first round, and I remember T Mac in the post game conference joking that he wished it was like before :lol

Charles Lee ran basically a 7 man rotation to lose to THE BUCKS?

Injuries.

Miles out. Mann out. Richards out. Mark out. That’s 2 starters and 2 backups.

Not much you can do at that point, especially with a bench that’s lacking. Tidjane Salaun shouldn’t be playing heavy minutes like he is, but here we are.

That’s also how you get Lamelo shooting 36 times

Somebody gotta do it and he certainly doesn’t have a problem with it.

From 2008 to 10 the Lakers beat 10 50 win teams in. The playoffs but we not gon talk about that.

Yep. :lol

It’s easy to look at his shooting percentages and clown him, but then you realize who the hell else is gonna shoot the rock on that team? Outside of Miller and Mann, nobody else has really been a consistent scoring threat. And having no centers for essentially the entire season limits what they can do offensively.

For all of his deficiencies (and there are plenty), I hope folks understand that him jacking shots like he has is out of necessity. They wouldn’t be competitive in any of these games without him chucking. And if you look at teams of the past, he wasn’t shooting like this b/c he had dudes that could actually create their own shots (Terry, Graham, WPG, PJ). That’s why Miller’s emergence is so important. Melo was never meant to be a #1–he’s much more valuable to a team when he’s facilitating first and then scoring at will when need be. 90% of their offense now is quite literally 4 dudes standing around waiting for him to create something. :lol

That said, he was cooking the hell out of Giannis last night. Was fun to see. Also, the Bucks with Dame and Yanni barely beating a depleted Hornets team isn’t exactly a good look.

Ah, okay.

Makes sense that a coach would choose to play his best guys a few extra minutes rather than turn to an unproven bench. Especially with a few rotation players out.
