Well you said it best, he plays in a star market. Even with how great The Joker is, the fat man sitting on his couch that doesn't watch basketball has no idea who he even is. Market size arguably matters more than anything not named skill.
Look at the small % of players even in the Top 25 all time that are from small market teams. It REALLY matters.

Shortened season, Covid making guys miss multiple games at a time all year long. In the West AD got hurt and Murray was out for the Nuggets. In the East you had the Philly meltdown, Cryrie and Jimbo both hurt for Brooklyn.
