What is “potential assists” based off of? Some sort of equation of times passed * that players % in that area - but they didn’t shoot? They missed? “Potential assists” seems like a new stat so I am curious about what it means

I think it just takes into account the missed shots that could’ve been assists. So it shows how often you’re setting guys up and not only relying on the ones they make. Paints a better picture.
