The Official NBA Season Thread: NBA Cup Begins | Embiid Debut | Klay Return

Think you’re underestimating how difficult it is for literal giants to possess all of those skills.

And on top of that, they now have the added responsibility to be able to move their feet and stay in front of much smaller, agile guys 30 feet away from the rim. If they can’t they give up….. layups. Or they give them a cushion & pray that they miss open practice jumpers.

Very few men have the ability.

Most of your favorite bigs in the 90s would have their minutes limited today if not out of the league altogether because they would be victimized in the PnR.

It’s a MUCH harder job today
Its much harder when they barely get to practice it even from a young age.

Any competent big can eat now the hard part is getting the opportunity.

Quote them please

Literally the post right after mine and this after we already know KATs impact.

There was a reason I was killing him for a while on here and got push back. When he was drafted unanimously #1 and the #s he kept putting up early on, at his skill set, it was all over NT.

Explain how. Genuinely interested.

Dale Davis in particular had zero offensive ability. Was a career 56% FT shooter. He actually made the ASG once for averaging 10 and 10 with 1 block. That’s how low the bar was.
I could explain but the eye test really is enough. Either u have a certain level of experience with this game, and u see it, or your understanding of this game relies strictly on stats, and you dont.

Honing guard skills on BOTH ends at a young age is proper training.

With your logic you’d have a lot of 6’3 centers in the world.

What is your level of experience with this game?

In terms of scoring, he's a tough cover. At least pre-Gobert.

Can score in the post, 40% three point shooter, pump fake and then off the dribble.
He played a traditional big, Steven Adams, out of the starting lineup & off the floor completely.

And it wasn’t because he was killing him with his post moves

Towns’ fans really call you crazy for not taking Carl Anthony-Towns serious as a ball player in 2022/2023...

The Wolves tried to follow the Cavs path. Towns think he’s more than what he really is and that’s why the Wolves went and got a center. Towns don’t wanna bang in the paint. He wanna shoot like he curry.

They gave up 5 picks and 5 pick swaps.. this will be an all time bad trade
Also, the 2 big model worked in LA in 2020.. For it to work you have to have elite playmaking like they did w/ Rondo and Bron.
You need ****** that will manipulate where the defenders are so that the spacing doesn't get ****** up, and D'lo isn't that type of player.

****, it even was looking deadly w/ NO when they had AD and Boogie, but again Rondo was there to run things.. Wolves need a pure point.

Dale Davis was trash. He made an ASG because back then the nba shoehorned positions so you always had some trash centers getting in

Kat always been too busy tying to surpass Dirk as best shooting big man
Get your big goofy self on the block
Now with rudy, he can't

change of scenery may do him good. Be second or third option like wigs on a winning team

Towns is a big time talent. Genrational is a stretch but he does have everything on offense.

Can’t blame him for the goober move.

Dudes be shxttng on centers from the past just to big up these new generation soft axx "bigs" who rather shoot 3s than play in the post. Besides Embiid, AD, and Jokic none of these dudes really got post moves like that. Kat is a fraud, y'all dudes will clown AD all day but turnaround and slob on Kat every chance y'all get. Disgusting.

See this is where u guys get caught up in listening to the messenger and not the message. If u were at the park choosing a team your taking slow *** zubac over a prime dale Davis? I really dont think you are

Problem is KAT isnt great enough to win you games despite his offensive talent.

The Wolves also never really built the proper team around him.

Very hard to do with an offensive only big. Just look at the Kings with Cousins. The Wolves with Love. Etc.
