I see the show's rated high and I think Aziz is hilarious but I'm on episode 5 and the only time I legit laughed was when the bar chick asked Aziz what if she sucked dude at the concert :lol

Other than that, what am I missing?

nobody said it was a straight up comedy or found it hilarious. It is good for what it is. Just a dude living in ny Tryna come up and deal with everyday situations in life.

Ah, ok. That's the problem then. I was expecting Tom Haverford stuff and it's not that kind of show. No need to finish then.

Damn. Is the West Wing that good?

Was thinking of giving it a try since I need a new show to watch.

It's my personal favorite show ever..But realistically it's easily a top 10 drama of all time..

Master of None is literally 2015 Curb Your Enthusiasm (with an East Coast/Minority perspective)

I personally love that type of comedy

Just finished Master Of None, loved it.  Makes me think about packing up and moving to another country.  Legit felt like I lived through some of his experiences myself.

Shout out to whoever recommended The Gift. that was a good movie

any more recommendations like movies like this?

I watched these 2 yesterday and thought they were really great.

- Tell No One (2006) -- Great storytelling throughout and there were no wasted scenes

- The Imposter (2012) -- this is the most WTF documentary I've ever watched

Noticed the other night that Hard Ball (Keanu) is on here :hat .

I really like Master of None, but don't ever repeat that blasphemy again. Curb is in a different stratosphere and in a class all of its own.

Eh, Master of None is in the same vein as Curb. I didn't mean the caliber. Curb had multiple seasons of greatness

I meant the type of pace/comedy/writing

Calm down

About 15 minutes into John Mulaney's new special.. it's hilarious.

Proud of that dude. He needs to stay away from Lorne Michaels forever. He has the talent to be his own solid brand. I'm kind of torn on him not addressing the sitcom (other than the title), but it sounds like he's in stride; so if he's ready to move on, so am I.

Just finished Master of None...

was not feeling it. it had a couple funny scenes but that's about it.

His parents acting and the way him and his girl interact is so cringe :x

Hopefully it's a case of how Louis CK had his Lucky Louie show on HBO and it was awful. He did his own thing, focused on his standup, then came back later on with Louie and knocked it out of the park.

Mulaney is incredibly talented, especially as a storyteller.. so I think he can still find some sort of television success.. but something more like Louie, Master of None, etc. the traditional sitcom is still possible.. but not the way he approached it. He gave an interview recently that was a great look into it.. http://www.vulture.com/2015/11/john-mulaney-opens-up-about-shows-cancellation.html

I loved the way Aziz's parents acted in Master of None...seemed natural to me.

I think his GF hampered the show though. Everything felt forced from there on out.

just watched ep 1 of master of none...was funny, lost it at the grocery store scene

Thought the whole Martinelli apple juice scene was hysterical. "You never had Martinelli apple juice?? We're gonna take 2" :rollin
