The Official Netflix Thread Tho: Recommend Streaming Movies

I thought High Flying Bird was going to be corny after seeing the promos, but I was pleasantly surprised. Andre Holland needs more leading roles.

^yea i enjoyed it. Felt like some of the dialogue was forced at times. The philly mom had me dying when she said “young bull” :rollin

Very refreshing take on counter terrorism.

Homeland without the neurosis.

High Flying Bird was cool, reminds me a bit of Ballers and maybe a dash of Moneyball but more down to Earth and with a signifcant message. I mostly remember Andre from Sugar (a baseball flick about a Dominican pitcher) and 42 (Jackie Robinson flick). He's bout that sports cinema life. Zazie, nuff said. Sonja Sohn, Bill Duke, Zachary Quinto, homie from Twin Peaks, Lucas from Stranger Things. Erick Scott was in American Vandal. Not a bad cast for an iPhone flick. I think I even recognize one of the extras in the one on one scene.

Close with Noomi Rapace had the potential to be a solid action flick. Terrible story telling bcs you led to believe one thing 2/3s of the way & there are facts that show this & then the ending says it’s something else completely nullifying what the prior part of the film showed you. It’s like someone wrote the first 2/3s of the flick & someone else wrote the ending but didn’t read what happened prior. Action scenes were legit though.
