it's crazy we did this without Gronk. this entire run.

so many people had us written off with Gronk out. "they can't win without Gronk" and "Brady is mediocre without Gronk"

most of us in here knew it though. a lot of us said, not this year. we're built to be OK without Gronk. plenty of weapons.

Also kinda Gronk related, sounds like Bennett is on his way out given his post-SB and parade quotes :\. Really hope they manage to work something out with him because you always need that Gronk insurance and he filled in great.

Another man who needs to get paid asap and as much as he wants is Dont'a man. Dude has proven time and time again that he's a big time player in big time moments, Making Hoody look like a genius keeping him out of the trio with him,Collins and Jones. He's already a Pats legend imo, without him they'd probably still be on 3 rings. Dude has been a winner since college,2 national titles and now 2 SB rings :smokin :smokin

Marty & Hightower are the priority....

Are we cool with potentially letting Blount go?

Butler, Hightower are must signs
Bennett would be nice but I can see someone paying him more than we'd be willing to

Blount is going to get PAID by someone...and probably not us :lol

Hightower needs to be get paid. We'll have the 5th highest cap space available and he's one of the players we need to keep, especially if there's turnover at other positions on defense; he's the foundation of that unit right now.

Butler needs to get paid as well, but I'm not sure if we'll use the franchise tag on him. He's done everything asked of him, played through injury this season, never complains, never brings up his contract situation; he just works hard and brings it every single game. Butler needs to get paid to show that if you buy into the system and do your job, you'll get rewarded. He's a top tier CB in my book.

As for Bennett, I'm pretty sure he wants to get his payday, but at the same time, I feel like he appreciates what he has with the Patriots. On our end, I feel like we do need him. I attribute his lack of production to his ankle injury and for the most part, we never got to see him and Gronk on the field together healthy. I also didn't see a ton of other tight ends available in free agency that excite me, other than maybe Jermaine Gresham. Having a TE behind Gronk is essential at this point.

Regarding Blount, I don't see him coming back and I think we'll ultimately be fine without him. I was disappointed when Vereen left to the Giants, but we filled his role just fine. Blount is great to have to close out games, but I don't see the Patriots paying what he'll get elsewhere.

Other guys I'd like to see back that we may end up letting go are Logan Ryan and Alan Branch. They both have pivotal roles in this defense and both ended up having great seasons overall. I used to not like Ryan at all, but he turned into a nice CB opposite Butler. I'm not sure how I feel about Rowe sliding into Ryan's spot and Cyrus Jones sliding into the nickle corner slot. But then again, this coaching staff made it work with this unit, so who am I to doubt anything at this point.

With Branch, he's a nice run stuffer. I don't know what kind of contract he'll be able to demand, but for continuity purposes, which mean nothing with this team for the most party, I'd like to see him return.

It always cracks me up when we pickup mediocre backs that thrive in our offense, they get paid and within a year or two disappear from the L :lol

:lol

a lot of Christian McCaffery talk to NE in the draft. i hope not. at least i hope we don't reach for him. but i feel like we'll take a RB later on this year. need a power guy to compliment Lewis and White.

Do we need to do anything about Gostkowski guys 8o :{ :(

Ultimately, I feel like him missing that extra point was a blessing in disguise as I'd rather have the ball in Brady's hands rather than Ghost's leg in a game tying situation in the Super Bowl. But still, he can't have those misses in those types of games.

I'm always surprised at the speed of which they get these done :lol.

My fav part might have to be Taylor Gabriel telling Sanu at the end of the half that "That's Tom Brady though man..." when they were up 21-0 and everyone on the sideline thought it was over with :lol :hat
