I agree. I own 2 Kobe VI, great traction, but not one of my faves.
Kobe 8's had nice colorways, but lunarlon bottomed out, tongue was non existent because it was so thin, laces were too long, look good wearing casually though. I own many though, can't even count how many I have off the top of my head.

Those are dope. Really wanted to like this shoe but that flimsy *** mesh kills it for me. Wish they would have used a more sturdy mesh or diff material.
