That outsole issue is definitely a QC problem rather than a design flaw, can't imagine Nike would let that slip through the net.
Seen a few reviews praising these, and a couple ripping into them - guess I'll just have to try them on myself.

A couple of other reviewers have given them really good reviews, Hoop And Life loved them and I tend to agree with most of his reviews, so hopefully they're good.

I can see the separation happening. I see on couple Kobe Xs that the outsole had gaps from the midsole/didn't have enough glue and when you have plastic on plastic the adhesiveness won't be as strong. It's a high wear area on his pair so the risk of separation is extreme. It's more of QC than flaw. But Nike does need to do away with encased midsoles in general.

Why does Nike need to do away with encased midsoles? I've found these to be great performers, for me, as opposed to ones that are not encased. It's also a huge reason why I'm going to get a pair of Hardens even though I got hurt wearing the CLB 2016s. Tried on a pair and I could tell a massive difference in the support.

Encased midsoles don't have great flexibility or takes hella long time to break-in and I feel it doesn't allow the cushion to compress freely sometimes making the shoe not as comfortable than without it being encased. A.D.s are comfortable so it doesn't back up my point in that regard. I do like the stability aspect of encased midsole. If possible just don't encase the entire length, leave the forefoot area exposed.
I don't find the Harden to be that extremely comfortable given it has Boost. Not 100% sure because it's encased has to do with it or that the Boost is thin.

It's only encased on the lateral side so maybe that's why it's still comfortable? The medial being exposed gives it room to expand similar to Adidas' boost models?

Yeah I think that helps but the insoles plays a big part in it too. Aside from that, It's an elegant shoe. You see it more on this black/white pair. The quality is miles above the XI EM. This pair seem to fit better around my right ankle unlike the grey pair I got so I'm liking it more now.

Hardens not that comfortable either imo Kobe's are not garbage as YouTube Reviewer above implies. Who reviews a shoe after it is torn ? Not fair to watchers or Nike imo

I just hope people don't write it off because of a review by someone else. I don't get or do anything based on someone's opinion. I try it out for myself & if I like it cool, if I don't, next.

The number one thing I'm wondering about is the forefoot of these vs the Kobe XI. The Kobe XI was so thin but so responsive. The AD midsole looks so thick, I hope it doesn't take time off of my first step.

Not a fan of Jahronmon. The sound of his nasally voice and the way he accentuates words reminds me of that annoying kid in your class that you wish would just shut up.

If you're familiar with the X, then you'll know what to expect from the A.D. in terms of cushion, support, and court feel. The break-in time is much less too.

Something I've noticed about the negative reviews of the A.D. is these people are mostly smaller footers, with Jahronmon being the largest at 10.5, that have complained. The ones that wear size 12 and up seem to really enjoy the shoe. Now, I'm only going off of the reviews that I've read and watched. Anyone else got more information to either back me up or debunk me? It's got me curious because I love playing in these. Especially, full court.

I just got mine in and I like them a lot. Traction has been great cushioning was a little stiff to start but ok now and the upper softens up fast. Don't know why they reviewer gave it such hate . not even close to what I experienced in a 10.5

What about Nelson Chang, Hoop is Life. Don't know his foot size but he's a smaller player and he liked the shoe if I remember correctly.
I think a) Jahron got a faulty pair and b) if a flyknit version comes out everyone will warm up to them a bit more. He's coming off full length zoom, flyknit Kobe XI, most shoes are a step down from that setup (I believe has has more than one "career high" in those shoes).
