I would have to look at their upcoming games but no idea why the NBA did this. Why would you have your premiere Christmas Day matchup (based on schedule time) twice within 3 days just 3 weeks before Christmas? Should have spaced them out.

It’s not even about them being the top two teams. And let’s ignore the fact that Phoenix just came off a Finals run and all signs pointed to GSW having Klay back in December.
They scheduled them for primetime on Christmas. The first matchup was scheduled on TNT. That indicates they had a hunch both teams, or at least the matchup, would be good to great. Not sure why them playing tonight (with PHX at the end of a B2B and 3 in 4) was the decision unless travel absolutely dictated it.
