I'm not sure if this is a genuine erupt post but I agree. The play-in was fine during the shortened covid season & even last year.

Every team is playing 82 games now. If you can't get in the 8th spot after all that, good luck in the lottery.

The Play In is good if and only if the 9th and 10th place teams are within a handful of games of the 7th and 8th place teams

If there's a sizable gap it makes no sense at all
