The team is trying to win now so you can’t let him walk for absolutely nothing. You can’t sign & trade him for a bunch of role players/picks/trade exception. You’re taking a step back either way.

You need him on the roster if only to trade him for a better package but he’s trying to prevent that & Brooklyn doesnt really have a choice
