The Official Photography Thread - Vol. 3

For me, the more I shot, the more I realized what worked, and what didn't...
this is all subjective of course.

Now I walk around with my cam and hardly find things to take a picture of.
Whenever I do find something worth taking a picture of, I take a couple shots,
get home, view the files on my laptop and realize that I don't have anything to work with.

My approach/mentality is that I am trying to create a "photograph", not a picture. Don't know
if you'll understand me, as there is a personal connotation that I relate with the word "photograph".

this makes sense. sounds like me up top. i think i should also stop comparing my work to everyone else's, that would be a great help in becoming better

Friday night out with a promo company.. Was my first time shooting with flash in continuously changing lighting. Did a lot better than I thought I would. All those nights practicing by shooting my son in the dark while he tries to dodge the picture paid off

Plastic film camera. Never got around to posting these as they are pretty much snapshots. Whatever.

First picture Tony's Donut Shop on Florence and California. Huntington Park.

Should I look into Flash or Continuous lighting? (I've never worked with flash photography)

You will need continuous lighting for something like that. The cheapest way for you is to set your shoot up in front of as many windows in your house as possible, and do your shoot on a nice sunny day.
