I got in around 2:30? Never been to the SJ one. Only the SF and LB ones. Dropped by cause I live like 15 minutes away 
Know about the lines, so I never go to Wekfests until at least after an hour or so.
Hate doing these indoor events cause it's cramped - cars are too close together and there's people everywhere.

Yeah, having it at SJ is cool tho.

I have such a love hate with Outside Lands. It's even more lame since i have never been but I find it just too much to handle but yet from photos I see every year, I always feel compelled to try and go the next year. This year it seems they tried to really rival Coachella imo with just lighting up Golden Gate Park and having all these extra things their like the comedian section and other parts of the concert that has nothing to do with the main stage. Looks like fun though. I wonder how someone would even get a photo pass their to shoot in the pit. That'd be dope.

have to get your skills up! it is all about where you focus, though a full frame camera generally can get shallower depth of field (there are all kind of caveats for this statement though, but this i think is generally true when shooting wide open) than a crop sensor cam, you would need either a faster lens, more light, and probably be shooting with a wide open aperture...you can also get closer to what it is that you are taking the picture of can help as well, or using a longer lens...

It's gonna be tough, some security guards allow you to bring your DSLR in, some don't.
Also, from what I've seen, it looks extremely crowded, literally people seem to be packed like sardines.

could have something to do with your af mode though, sometimes it can be hard for the camera to focus wide open (especially if there is too much light hitting the sensor and/or there are multiple things in the frame -just using autofocus; using manual focus or switching over to dmf mode (where the camera autofocuses but lets you adjust the focus) is probably the best way to achieve that shallow depth of field look. one of the cool things about using (older) manual lenses is that they usually have focus & hyper focal markings on them, which, along with a finite focus ring (most of the sony lenses are the focus by wire so even when your reach the limit of the lens focus it keeps can spin ad infinitum, but once you get it down it is pretty easy to focus because the throw from minimum to infinity is pretty short), makes it easier to set the focus to a particular distance and not have the camera decide. I would recommend buying a manual, fast, cheap lens & an adapter to anyone with a mirrorless camera, it gives you some idea of the all the magic the camera does to autofocus so quickly

thanks, i'm trying to be less heavy handed with the edits but I still do too much...ashamed, why? you could give it a moodier tone, even still is a cool image, when mother nature doesn't cooperate you could try to composite it...i get lightweight spooked when i'm not in sight distance of concrete, it's just feels eerie for me to be surrounded by nature like...plus i'm not a fan of bugs, so I try to uphold the deal i made with nature in general that i stay out of their world & they stay out of mine...
