Asked by GameReactor during a Jet Set Radio interview whether fans should continue to voice out on what Dreamcast games they want to see, Harbone responded:

“Yes, definitely, but I can tell you what it’s going to be – it’s going to be Shenmue. And, well, Skies of Arcadia, as well.

“Those are a couple of our most requested games. I can’t say ‘yes’ or ‘no,’ but we may be working on them,” he teased.

So excited for this in 8 years.

Final Fantasy X HD Still in Development
The game’s not dead after all!
by Colin Moriarty OCTOBER 17, 2012

If there was one announcement that was more exciting than any other emerging from Tokyo Game Show in 2011, it was the revelation that Final Fantasy X would be getting the HD treatment, and would be coming exclusively to PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.

But ever since its reveal (in which we only saw a logo), we’ve heard pretty much nothing about it apart from a couple of passing comments that Final Fantasy X HD wasn’t a remake, but a remaster.

Thankfully, we now have more news, though it’s basically just a reaffirmation that the game hasn’t been abandoned, which has been the recent speculation concerning the PS3/Vita crossplay game. Jeremy Parish of our sister site 1UP notes that when he went to TGS and spoke to an unnamed Square Enix employee, he was told that the game “is still in the works.”

This should come as at least mild reassurance that Square Enix didn’t get ahead of itself with its 2011 TGS announcement, and that gamers will be playing Final Fantasy X HD on their PlayStation 3s and PlayStation Vitas eventually, though likely later as opposed to sooner.

It's not dead but it's on life-support. Don't expect it anytime soon.

I'm taking questions in the "What's up with the gaming industry?" thread. Get at me if you've got some questions.

Anyone? I'm getting the clear blue one myself.

I didn't even know there was Gold DS3 until I checked in here. :lol

It's a GameStop exclusive though. :rolleyes

Might cop next time I'm in the States.

What's this about a clear blue one though? 8o

I wouldn't mind seeing some DS3s in new colors.

Is this the DS3 you're referring to NCTwin? 8o

Me gusta. :hat The Candy Blue DS3 is only in Japan right now, hopefully they come to the US soon.

There are also  a Translucent Grey and Translucent Red DS3s dropping as well, the latter being a Target exclusive.

Starhawk dev lays off 24, 'much smaller studio' to focus on first iOS title... UPDATE
star.jpg

Update: Lightbox Interactive President Dylan Jobe has told Joystiq his company will see "a sizable reduction in staff." Twenty-four staff members have been informed that Friday will be their final day at the Texas-based developer. Jobe added that "all 24 of them are getting a severance package."

"Lay-offs always suck but they are an unfortunate reality of business sometimes. The best we can do is try and treat our people with respect during the shocking transition of a lay-off," he said.

Jobe says Lightbox will become a "much smaller studio" after the cuts as it focuses efforts on the development of its first game for iOS.

Original Story: There are rumblings that LightBox Interactive, the developer behind the PS3 exclusive Starhawk, will lay off most of its staff by Friday. 3D Realms founder (and previous layoff predictor) George Broussard tweets, "Good luck to my buddies at LightBox in Austin. Layoffs and rumors of near whole studio gone by Friday."

Yesterday LightBox Interactive president Dylan Jobe sent out an ominous tweet, reading, "And yeah, its time for another drink...." LightBox artist Jonathan Lindblom tweeted early this morning, "I feel like my brain has been taken out and passed around, I can't think straight, everything is muddled." Associate producer and community manager Pete MacKay tweeted his thoughts today as well: "And so another chapter closes on my life. Let's see where I go next! (taking suggestions)."

We've contacted LightBox Interactive for clarification.
Damn.

You know, when I first heard of this game, the backing by Sony, the exclusive beta, the theme behind it, I thought, "lame". I knew from the jumpoff this guy was dead in the water. It just doesnt have the appeal that other hardcore games have. It can't compete with other franchises and we all know Sony sucks at marketing. I didnt see one commercial for it either. Now the studio had to layoff people, cut ties with Sony and is making games for iOS. Just goes to show, what might sound cool in a board room, doesn't to us gamers. Im glad they're focusing on the mobile gaming market.

Dead or Alive 5's new costume packs include fiend Hayabusa, cat ears, 'bartender britches'
deadoralive5fiendhayabusa.png

The latest slew of DLC costume packs for Dead or Alive 5 includes one awesome thing (above), some normal-lookin' street clothes and then a whole bunch of stuff we'd be embarrassed to describe in public.

"Kitty Pack," as you might suspect, includes cat ears and corset-ish catsuits for Christie, Helena, Tina and Lisa. The "What a Character" pack adds two maid outfits for Hitomi and Mila that are more of the "Octoberfest Bar maid" variety than the "French House maid" type you might expect, a slinky gown and mask for Lisa, and "bartender britches" for Rig.

Lastly, the "Special Set" gives Kasumi and Leifang access to their traditional overalls and panda-bear outfits, respectively, in addition to "fiend" Hayabusa and an even slinkier evening gown for Lisa. Each pack is available now for $4.99/400 MSP, and all three can be purchased together via the "Round 2 Costumes - Full Set" pack, which at the moment is only available on the 360 for 1040 MSP. PlayStation 3 owners looking for a sweet costume discount will have to wait until next week, when the Full Set becomes available for $12.99.

After not playing a racing sim in years, I finally rented GT 5 and had a blast with it. I'm by no means a hard core gamer. I've always been average-sliiightly above average when it came to competitively playing games with friends/online, but I felt pretty good with this game (except trying to beat Nurburgring on professional or expert). I haven't had this much fun with a racing sim since GT 2. I tried Forza and Grid, but never really liked it much.

Man so I red box'ed Dishonered and this damn game is seriously taking over 15 minutes to install right now :{

Damn @ Lightbox. I just bought Starhawk last week as well. As long as Sony keeps on supporting it's cool, but too bad they didn't even get to do the other 2 games in their contract.

Quick impressions on PlayStation All Stars and The PS Store

PS All stars is a lot of fun. I downloaded the beta on my Vita and it looked great and online play worked flawlessly for me. It was really fast to get into a battle and there was no visual downgrade from what I've seen off the PS3 version but I didn't get to try cross play though.
The tutorial is very important. Trying to spam attacks won't work especially against the experienced players so you need to know the controls. It really rewards those who learn the attacks and combos especially. It takes time to build the super bar if your just spamming but much faster if you have the combos on lock
All the matches I played were pretty hectic though with 4 different players. I think 2 v 2 with a friend would be a lot of fun as you can have much different strategies than playing 1 vs the rest.

They do need to change the UI and character select screen though. I'm sure they will since this is only a beta but the one they used is incredibly boring.
The characters don't really speak much too except for when they're using there supers. They don't need to say the name of every move like a Capcom game but they need to speak more. I'm sure the final build will fix that too.

As for the store, it was laggy, the initial starup is slow and it's buggy. It's acually an application unlike the older one which was built in. However, it looks much much better than the older one. There's going to be a lot more impulse buys with this store, It's organised much better ,
Each game has all it's associated content on one page, that includes DLC, screenshots, videos, themes, avatars and there are a lot more options for filtering. The search function is interesting. i think it would be much better when the store is up to full speed but for now it's not great
Other positives, It shows in your friend list if someone is using the store and it shows the size of every game.

They reverted back to the old one so that they can fix the issues with the new one I'm hoping all the speed issues are resolved when it comes back.

Got to admit Dishonered is pretty damn good game.

Will rent it for 2 nights and try to beat it.

When the game drops in the $39.99 price range on or around black Friday I'll cop it then.

Anyone also play Payday The Heist ? Is it any good?

I'm downloading it now since it's free for PS+ subscribers.
