The Official PlayStation 3 | ViTA Thread Vol. Plenty of Life Left

^ Crazy thing is that they are supposed to be cross-save and cross-play.... but not cross-buy?

Weird. If thats the case I'll just buy them for PS3.

:lol

FFXV should be its own game and Versus should be released on PS3. Just my 2 cents, but if this results in an actual game releasing and not just posturing by SE, then lets do it.

The problem with the whole Versus thing is that they were going for the whole Fabula Nova Crystalis suite like they did with the FF7 compilation. That all went sour when stuff didn't get out in a timely manner and things weren't localized for EU/NA. The ideas in the original Versus were tied into the original FF XIII story so putting it out now would do nothing for anyone. Unless, that you really want the FF13 universe permeating into the PS4/720 :lol

Some of the ideas were rolled into Lightning Returns, some were left in, and others got moved into a new title. Much like the Xenosaga series you might be able to connect the dots in certain places but nothing overt.

Let's paddle by and let it drown; lest we be pulled under with it. :{ :lol

ok u know those games on pc where ur a general and u command hundreds of troops (british armies, samurais etc)? is there any game remotely like that on ps3? i mean actual historical stuff, not crysis, futuristic type characters.

i thought i would be able to do that stuff in assassins creed 3 but no....

The only Real time strategy (if that's the genre that you are looking for) that I can think of that's on the ps3 is Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3, but the controls are rather difficult on the PS3. You can also try Valkyria Chronicles on the PS3. That's a real solid hybrid RTS, as well as one of my (and some other NTr's) favorite games. I would suggest VC over C&C.

Final Fantasy XV will be exclusive on PS4

Square-Enix has had problems in the current gen, I suspect that the company couldn’t adapt Final Fantasy and other IPs to the HD era. Moreover, the first version of FF14 was a downfall, this game forced to stop the development of other games to focus in the rebuild of FF14. Really it’s like a new game.

Square-Enix announced Final Fantasy Versus XIII years ago and the game was lost in the limbo. Square decided to halt Versus PS3 development two years ago, but the RPG wasn’t cancelled, why? Two years ago, Square-Enix moved the game to PS4 and Sony got in the project.

Actually Sony is co-developing the game with Square-Enix, therefore, this game will be exclusive on PS4.

Square-Enix renamed Versus to FF15 in the middle of this process. Sony’s studios are helping SE with FF15 assets among other tasks.

We hinted this PS4 exclusive one month ago, but we couldn’t speak freely about this topic. Now, it’s all that we can say.

I know Hybrid is going to come and shut this down but I want to believe!
Vgleaks were also spot on with PS4 specs apart from the 8GB GDDR5 which was a suprise to even some of Sony's devs.

I just want a FF that will use all the PS4's power since Sony still don't really have a JRPG they can call their own.

Pretty much just sold me a PS4

whats really fryin my noodle is y do u guys (gals? lmao) think the early americana period caught on so quick and so furious in the 2000s? bio, fallout, resistance (anymore?) all these titles gravitated towards a malevonent view of carefree early 20th century whimsy. y? what was the attraction? and y at the same time these seeming different unrelated studios?

.....

illuminati?

srs

lmao but still srs

Also, try Dishonored if you're into BioShock.

Was probably my favorite game of 2012.

...perhaps they were interested in exposing the true nature of those times. that they were not so simply carefree.... that the era carried with it grave consequences, regardless of its pomp or decor

as for bio directly its makin me think, and not many games make me do that. so..."ah salut"

I haven't read through this thread. Can someone answer something for me?

Will GTA5 be available for PS4? With GTA5's September release date, and the fact that it won't play PS3 games, one would think that they'd have to launch with GTA5 right?

Thanks, man.

I just can't imagine having arguably the most anticipated game of the year only playable on last generation's console would be good for sales. You know? Rockstar and Sony would both be dropping the ball.

Are Trophies Coming For PSone and PS2 Classics?
A new Sony patent would let it happen seamlessly.
by Colin Moriarty MARCH 21, 2013

I admit it: I love me some PlayStation Network Trophies. And one thing that’s always frustrated me is the lack of Trophy support on PSone and PS2 Classics, as well as older pre-Trophy PS3 games like Resistance: Fall of Man, Heavenly Sword and Folklore. But a new, recently-filed Sony patent application may solve this problem.

Sony has filed a patent application (via NeoGAF) with the following abstract:

400

A method and apparatus for adding trophy support [to] games that do not have trophies without modifying the original game. The method and apparatus are used to detect particular disk access, use the detected disk access as potential trophy triggers in games, and recognize the triggers while a game is played. Trophies are awarded based on the triggers, and the awarded trophies are stored.

What does that mean? It’s simple. Games that don’t inherently support Trophies can -- with the technology behind this patent -- be remotely patched without ever having to alter the original title. What holds many companies back from going back to patch old games for Trophies is the cost of doing so, not only with internal resources, but because the game must be recertified thereafter, which costs extra cash.

700

^^^ They've been trying to do this for forever even at the developer level but Sony has always told dev's to please try to not include "internal" trophies. Glad to see this might be coming in the future so my twitter/FB/IG feed can be spammed with people who killed Ruby weapon.

Please don't make me get Excalibur II again :{
