The Official PlayStation 3 | ViTA Thread Vol. Plenty of Life Left

Peep the spoiler:

Unlock BioShock Infinite’s 1999 mode with the Konami code...

Only hours remain until BioShock Infinite emerges from cloud cover on leathery steampunk wings, and we’re eager for you to play one of the most artistically powerful games we’ve seen. Once you beat the campaign, you’ll enable access to 1999 mode, a throwback to the challenges of old-school shooters with toughened enemies and a leaner health bar. But if you want, you can hop on the pain sky-train right from the start with a very familiar code.

On the main menu, hit this key combination:

Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, (Cancel), (Confirm)

It’s the Konami code, the universal cheat found in nearly all of Konami’s console games of the ’80s and ’90s. Irrational has a love for lacing its games with subtle nods to its influences and gaming history, so it’s no surprise if more references jump out at you during your time in Columbia.

Irrational also released Infinite’s launch trailer, seen below and set to “Fury Oh Fury” by Nico Vega.

Older NT'ers born in the 80's will get a kick out of this :lol

Been playing Infinite for an hour and I've gotten nothing done.

The environment and art style is amazing.

^^ *yawn* another same old AC game >D ...wait til it drop down to like $30 in like 2 weeks after launch

Correct.
They have already released the complete edition of Assassins Creed 3 for 64.99 (all DLC and etc). I will probably never play another Assassins creed game

Anyone recommend a good MP for PS3?

Today, it was announced that Square Enix president Yoichi Wada is stepping down. He will no longer be serving as Square Enix's Representative Director. Yousuke Matsuda, who joined Square in 2001, will take over Wada's role in running the company.

The reason given for Wada's demotion was "a management reorganization". According to Japanese website 4Gamer, no word on what's next for Wada. This comes as Square Enix is forecasting an "extraordinary loss" in its next financial statement.

The company expected to make 3.5 billion yen (£24.4m) profit, but will now make a 13 billion yen (£90m) loss.

The changeover is slated to go into effect starting in late June.

According to a supplementary statement Square Enix released, Yoichi Wada is receiving a 60 percent pay cut in his salary starting this April. This is due to the company's poor performance. What's more, after stepping down in June, president Wada will not be reappointed to Board of Directors.

It's worth noting that Matsuda, who is replacing Wada, is getting a 40 percent pay cut.

Sooooo does that mean less iOS games and more console games with the next boss man?

Hard to feel for the guy when his company is doing it to themselves.

FFVII remake getting closer and closer... :lol

i write greater than any1 in the illuminati. u hear me devil man? u hear me? english = trash. i write greater than ne1.

i say that to say this...ps3 =....its what i take from it.

and add to it

Wow I told myself I was not about to sit here and watch a 17 mint video....I was wrong. Looks amazing

Has anyone here ever played dark cloud?

I been on a ps2 binge. Buying cheap games and some I never played. Others that i didnt have the patience with when i was younger. This game is addicting. I usually hate final fantasy type games but this feels like a mix with that and Zelda.

Are there any games like this on ps3? I doubt there will be anythingthat involves the building a city portion. But any amazing "dungeon crawlers"? For ps3?

In many ways I think that Internet gaming has stifled creativity. It's just too easy to release a bunch of sequels. And concentrate on multiplayer instead of having an amazing 1 player experience.

That's why I'm very glad to hear the new bio shock is amazing. And I can't wait for another metal gear solid

Played and loved both Dark Cloud and Dark Cloud 2. I never finished either though, the difficulty spiked a bit in each, and as a kid I didnt have the patience I do now. :lol

Closest thing on PS3 would be White Knight Chronicles 1 and 2.

You should be able to find WKC 2 for cheap right now, and it comes with the first game... however they just shut down the servers on the first game, so you could only play through the single player portion.

Anyone picking up Terraria? Just dropped on PSN. Supposed to be a 2D Minecraft-type game.

I am thinking about it but was wondering if anyone had played it....

I have it on Steam. It's fun when you play with others. it's also pretty entertaining by yourself. I love the boss fights in it. :lol

it's worth noting that the PC version of the game is not fully up to date with the console version, but the pc version will be getting all of the new things as (hopefully free) dlc soon.

Also, the PC version is $2.50 for now since it is on sale. its normally $10.

#PS4 RAISES THE PSN FRIEND LIMIT. #GDC

@GameOverGreggy
All the #PS4 streaming and sharing: that's on the hardware. Devs don't have to do anything special to their game. #GDC

#PS4 Remote Play: Screens are mirrored on PS4/Vita (Both on at same time). Hardware does it/not on devs. Start at any time; no special mode.

Talking about the @PlayStation App. Login, buy game, #PS4 starts downloading at home, you get home and start playing the part that's DWLD.
