Today, it was announced that Square Enix president Yoichi Wada is stepping down. He will no longer be serving as Square Enix's Representative Director. Yousuke Matsuda, who joined Square in 2001, will take over Wada's role in running the company.
The reason given for Wada's demotion was "a management reorganization". According to Japanese website 4Gamer, no word on what's next for Wada. This comes as Square Enix is forecasting an "extraordinary loss" in its next financial statement.
The company expected to make 3.5 billion yen (£24.4m) profit, but will now make a 13 billion yen (£90m) loss.
The changeover is slated to go into effect starting in late June.
According to a supplementary statement Square Enix released, Yoichi Wada is receiving a 60 percent pay cut in his salary starting this April. This is due to the company's poor performance. What's more, after stepping down in June, president Wada will not be reappointed to Board of Directors.
It's worth noting that Matsuda, who is replacing Wada, is getting a 40 percent pay cut.

Has anyone here ever played dark cloud?
I been on a ps2 binge. Buying cheap games and some I never played. Others that i didnt have the patience with when i was younger. This game is addicting. I usually hate final fantasy type games but this feels like a mix with that and Zelda.
Are there any games like this on ps3? I doubt there will be anythingthat involves the building a city portion. But any amazing "dungeon crawlers"? For ps3?
In many ways I think that Internet gaming has stifled creativity. It's just too easy to release a bunch of sequels. And concentrate on multiplayer instead of having an amazing 1 player experience.
That's why I'm very glad to hear the new bio shock is amazing. And I can't wait for another metal gear solid
I have it on Steam. It's fun when you play with others. it's also pretty entertaining by yourself. I love the boss fights in it.Anyone picking up Terraria? Just dropped on PSN. Supposed to be a 2D Minecraft-type game.
I am thinking about it but was wondering if anyone had played it....
